Owner description: Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining Stag’s Leap, where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and the Frog Farm, where the early vintages were made. The winery was relocated in 1994 when John and his family moved Frog’s Leap to the historic Red Barn in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. This grand and welcoming building was built in 1884 as the Adamson Winery and sits amongst some of our 200 acres of estate grown vineyards. Over the past 30 years Frog’s Leap has earned an enviable reputation with our unique combination of a whimsical label, sincere dedication to sustainable principles and our small, handcrafted production of wines. Over the years to come we look forward growing and learning more about ourselves, our wines and how we can share it all with honesty and genuine hospitality.

The location is amazing and the attention we were given was great! When you coupled this with the tour and obviously the wine tasting, the whole thing was simply a wonderful event!

Frog's Leap produces great wine...and the vineyard and tasting house are beautifully done. Other Napa vineyards are mass-production affairs - bit naff with fountains and valet parking. This is relaxed and has stunning views as you sip your flight. I knocked off a star because the waitress took passive-aggressive to a new level. We found it hilarious but quite unexpected. I was ready to load up on wine but didn't bother after her delightful attitude. (if you are reading this Frog's Leap, she had dark hair in a pony tail).

Had a great tasting at frog's leap. Loved tasting in the garden and the women that was pouring the wine was the best of the 12 or so wineries we visited. We did not want to leave.

This was one of our favorite vineyards to visit! Very laid back. It was unique because instead of just standing at a counter to do your tasting, you get to sit on their porch and look out at the view. So pretty! Great wine too!!
