“Great Wine and Private Tasting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

Private tasting is worth the money. You get to taste the Special Selection and get more information on the Wagner family and their wines.

“great tastings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

The $15 dollar tasting consists of 3 wines that are all very good and you get to keep the Reidel wine glass when your done.
They also have a private tasting at a cost of $30 per person that will leave you very satisfied when you are done. Don't forget to ask for the glass when you are leaving.

“Don't go without an appointment”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

The wine is very good, without a doubt. You will not be able to tour w/out an appointment. Our tasting went okay. Had better experiences at other wineries. Again, we have always loved their wine, still do. But, the staff seemed like they were enjoying interacting w/each other a lot more than interacting w/people who were coming in to taste. Toured 4 wineries and they were the least interactive of the 4 by far.

“Caymus is one of the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

Of all of the vineyards we visited this past week (10), Caymus was one of the best. Caymus was Cab that opened my eyes to better full bodied cabs. As such, I may be a little biased to this wine, but our experience was spectacular. We had a private tasting, as with all of the other vinyards. Mike was our host, and he was great. We had a nice tasting sampling the Sauvignon Blanc, Zin, Cab and Special Selection Cab. We enjoyed the Sauv Blanc and Zin, which were new to us and are only sold through the vineyard. The best part was being able to compare the Cab and the Special Selection Cab side by side. I love the regular cab, but after letting both open up a bit, the Special Selection really shined. It is so smooth and velvety with complex flavors and a long finish. Our group was so pleased with all of the Camus wines, that we had 3 cases and several magnums shipped home. Finally, Caymus had beautiful grounds with lots of flowers and offered a low key classy tasting experience. It is just the right size, well run, with a friendly staff. We visited more rustic wineries as well as a couple larger very commercial operations. This was in the middle, and very much suited our taste. Thanks to Mike for a great experience, Caymus SWAG, and a great deal on LOTS of wine!

“Great wines at Caymus”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

We have had Caymus wines before so naturally wanted to stop by during our first visit to Napa. We pre-booked in advance through cellarpass. It is kind of hard to get tours to Caymus due to its popularity so if you do plan on going it is a good idea to book well in advance. They don't have a large tasting area so if you don't have an appointment then get there early. We really enjoyed this tasting because we had a friendly guide and got to get out to the vineyard and sample some grapes and learn about the harvesting procedure. Following that we went to a gorgeous room where our sit down tasting took place. Great tour and great wine.
