“Heavenly stay at the Auberge”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

Just returned from a perfect stay at the Auberge. If you enjoy breathtaking views of the valley, warm and attentive service, and comfortable, well-appointed rooms, stay at the Auberge. Dinner on the terrace is not to be missed. Yahell, the concierge, booked our winery visits and off-site dinners--a pleasure to work with. We also enjoyed the spa and the soaking pools, also with great views. While this was our first stay in Napa, I can't imagine there is another place there that could top the Auberge--will definitely return!

Room Tip: Bordeaux 4 was quiet and centrally located--would recommend....

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Auberge du Soleii. From the moment we checked in, we were made to feel special. We enjoyed a sumptuous sweet with a hot tub on our balcony overlooking a beautiful view. Loved seeing the hot air balloons each morning in the distance. Breakfasts were yummy and we never stopped enjoying the view from the al fresco dining. Enjoyed the pool and a couples massage and bath. Our entire stay was a "home run"!

Hotel location, quality of the accommodations and service were outstanding. After a short drive from Rutherford town, right above vineyards, at the arrival one is greeted by the natural beauty, rather than branded signage. The staff is polite and paying attention to every detail. Attendants are well informed and ready to help.
We had a suite (Bordeaux 1) with an impressive view, facing the valley. The rooms, bathroom and the private terrace were magnificent, with an extraordinary sense of detail and decorated with good taste. One can feel like home, rather than in a hotel.
We had a great time at the pool, which was clean and well attended. We had lunch there, as well. If asked for, the pool attendants will bring your lunch, from the restaurant.
We did stroll, late afternoon, through their sculpture garden (not to be missed). We have been at hotel spa, nicely located on a cliff with nice view of the forest and valley.
If you plan to spend one afternoon on you own terrace, there are plenty of vine, Champagne and snacks provided for you in the refrigerator.
Our wedding anniversary was noted by Auberge management, with flowers, a bottle of their own wine label and a cake. All was ready, at the time we entered the suite.
We had, only, breakfast at their restaurant, on the terrace, and did appreciate its fine quality and the perfect service.
We had a great time and plan to return again.

Stayed in an upper valley view suite. Large and very well appointed- living area, bedroom, large bath, lovely balcony, and kitchenette. Very nice amenities-from complimentary beverages and snacks (in your sub-zero fridge), complete toiletries, to hypo-allergenic pillows. Housekeeping was invisible but attentive, and the overall service impeccable.
Ate in the phenomenal restaurant the first night and was very impressed. Wine pairings were exceptional.
TVs were ok (remotes barely worked and picture settings were really off- could not be adjusted) and wifi was fair.
The only downside was noise. Our suite was Provence 3 (we especially wanted to not be below another guest, so stayed in an upper suite to hopefully guarantee quiet) and we had road noise, mostly in the morning. Also heard our downstairs neighbors clomping around and slamming doors- loud enough to wake us up. At a resort of this level (and price point) I would not expect to hear other residents or traffic.
Request a suite away from the road, further down the hill- and perhaps a stand alone to make sure you don't hear your neighbors.

Room Tip: Request something away from the road.

Green Features: It was nice to have a recycle bin in the room, under the sink.

I was told by several people that if I had the opportunity to just sit outside at the Bistro and Bar at Auberge du Soleil with a glass of wine, I had to take it. After touring Schramsburg, my group of four needed to find a place for a light lunch. We decided to do as we were told and visit Auberge. When we pulled into the driveway of the hotel, it was a tight fit. I told my husband that I had just read (within minutes of arriving to the hotel) on TA that it would be all valet parking. He rolled the window down, and I told the man we were having lunch at the Bistro (I am glad I knew the name, since I felt like I had to have a purpose for being there and wanted to seem like I knew what we were doing there). He took the keys and the car. Painless. You cannot see the hotel from the front, and now I wish I had explored it more to get the views of it from the pool area. It is stunning.
We were fortunate to get a table on the balcony within minutes (otherwise, it just wouldn't have been the same experience--inside, the bar is dark and without the amazing view). We ordered delicious house red and white wine, padron peppers (we ate these throughout Spain and now at any tapas restaurant we can get them at, and these were outstanding), french fries--yes, to go with the wine (excellent), and lightly breaded, delicious calamari. The service, view, and altogether atmosphere are all superior at Auberge du Soleil.

This was our second time at this restaurant ...and it was as good as we remembered!!!

Our schedule was messed up by our limousine company and thankfully they were able to accommodate us for lunch ....and what a fantastic lunch it was!!

The restaurant was full and our service was still impeccable. The view is amazing!! The food fantastic!! and served in my favorite way ... giving you enough time to enjoy each course and your wine without feeling hurried.

We can't say enough nice things about the restaurant and hopefully on our next trip we will be enjoying the hotel area!!!
