While visiting Roseville, a quick google search for vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurants and found this one near by my hotel. Popped over for a peek at the menu and the staff were very helpful in both pointing out the veg/vegan options on the menu as well as indicating which dishes they would happily make veg/vegan upon request. A pleasant surprise!

If you're in the area DO give them a try! Always mention your dietary or lifestyle preferences and they will be happy to oblige!

Decor was very nice, trendy. Good for a meal in or for take-away. Also, apparently they do a buffet dinner option on Wednesdays.

I can highly recommend Chana Masala!!! Price was $8.99!

Also some very good info at the entry about Hindu/Buddhist events in the area too! Bonus!

Just have to say again, it is SO enjoyable to find restaurants that don't just raise an eyebrow at those who choose to eat only plants and to offer to custom make dishes off the main menu to suit our preferences and not just point to the ready made (and often limited) options. Here they will work with you to pick the dish and spice level you like and make it suitable!

The decor is nice here and the buffet lunch is very well priced - $8.99. We were excited to see Goat Curry in the buffet. There is a pretty wide selection of food, and there are two tables divided into vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Some very good but some dishes just missing the mark. However, we were a bit confused about the restaurants name "Namaste Nepal". The namaste is a nice touch, but "Nepal"?? The food were primarily Indian with only 2 dishes identifiable as Nepalese

Much as we had anticipated good goat curry. It, unfortunately, Nepalese spicy sald. was inedible. It was well flavored and the meat was tender - what little there was. Basically it was just lots of bones and gristle. Too bad.

The small, juicy chicken drumsticks were delicious, and the chicken sausage was good if you like sausage. Most of the sauces are yogurt based and very tasty. Yet these sauces tasted pretty much alike. There are three different kinds of rice, and lots of good bean-based dishes. The beans are very nicely prepared and just right in their texture.

There are two green salad choices - a mixed green and a spicy Nepalese one, that had a nice bite. There were three deserts offered - a very nice, but overly sugary rice pudding, mixed fresh fruit, and some sort of very good, little spongy Strawberry cake bar. The hot Naan that is served to your table is really good.

The service is both friendly and reserved. The value is very high, and even if you only sample the dishes, you'll walk away nicely full.
