“Great customer service combined with a great facility”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

Took our basketball team here for a weekend tourney in July and management and staff were exceptional to accommodate the myriad of needs for our families. The hotel and pool area were very nice as the team enjoyed the main lobby with a pool table. One person in our group forgot to make a reservation, but they worked them in at our group rate which was an excellent rate for summer in Sonoma.

We stayed at this Double Tree in Rohnert Park while visiting Sonoma and Napa wine country. This was a little oasis in the busy city. We would come home in the evening after a hard day of drinking wine and could sit on our balcony overlooking beautiful grounds and enjoy the wine we brought home. The Bacchus restaurant in the hotel was good and their breakfast was an enjoyable continental breakfast featuring homemade muffins, toast, coffee, yogurt and fruit. The inside facing rooms looked over the pool, firepits with couches and chairs that people congregated at and nicely manicured grounds. The thing that set this hotel apart from others was the service. Ernie at the front desk went out of his way on several occasions to help us get boxes and bubble wrap to send souvenir glasses home. He did this on his own time and separate from his job at the front desk. Thanks Ernie! I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard and take advantage of the grounds by eating your breakfast by th...

Hello Funfamily20,

Sorry to hear about the rough day of tasting wine and sunshine, but it’s great to hear that after such a rough and harrowing day we were a great reprieve! Also thank you for the great words about Ernie. We do our best to make every guest’s stay special and it’s great to hear when we succeed.

The Doubletree Rohnert Park is situated in a quiet area of Sonoma Wine Country. We enjoyed the easy parking, nice pool area, relaxing lobby, and great buffet breakfast. Our room was comfortable and the beds were great as well. We enjoyed playing golf at the course adjacent to the hotel (North Course). As far as eating places Mary's is the only restaurant nearby within walking distance (serving Italian food) but it's not that far to drive to other restaurants. We recommend Willy's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa for dinner. The areas I would recommned to the hotel for improvement is a more varied dinner menu - if they'd had a larger dinner menu with better options we'd have stayed there for dinner each night. Even a great happy hour with lots of bar menu food would be good. Also in the rooms more comfortable chairs to sit and read the ones we had were wicker and too deep to sit in and relax. Small club chairs would be great with a little table.

Room Tip: Room not overlooking the pool - ours overlooked the golf course and was quiet

Summer is the wine country is not an easy time to find a hotel, especially for a one night Saturday stay. That's why I ended up at the Doubletree in Rohnert Park. It was just about the only place available. However, I figured that Hilton / Doubletree is pretty reputable, so I was looking forward to a nice hotel. I guess I was a bit disappointed.

Not to be snarky, but the Cookies? Really? Doubletree makes such a big deal about the cookies in their advertising. OK, they give you a warm cookie when you check in. It's not that great a cookie. It probably costs them 25 cents. Its a nice touch, but it's blown out of proportion.

I booked a room with a king bed, but didn't go for any of the upsell that the web site tried to push on me after I made the booking. Perhaps I should have... We got a basic room with a balcony view of a huge air conditioner. Basic is also the word that fits about everything. The furnishings and decor were basic and bland. The bathroom had a basic cheap hair drier. There was nothing about the room that would make you think "ahhh, this is nice!"

The hotel itself is nicely situated in a green area beside a golf course. Far enough from Highway 101 to be quiet. Theres a pool and a Jacuzzi tub.

The bright spot was the Bacchus restaurant for breakfast. Service was good. The breakfast buffet was mostly standard fare, but included custom omelets made from your own choice of ingredients made it stand out.

Hello Mar_Majka,

I am sorry to hear that you feel our hotel is basic, but we have had some recent upgrades including new granite counters on all the surfaces of the room, high def flat screen TVs, new beds, new sofa coverings, and we are continuing with improvements all the time. I am however happy to hear that you enjoyed our Bacchus Restaurant and Wine Bar and especially our breakfast Omelet Bar. I hope you will join us again soon so that you can see we are always improving.

Good hotel within 45 minutes of Napa at little closer to Sonoma and next to the Russian River valley. I enjoyed a King balcony room for 4 days and it is spacious and relaxingly appointed. The balconys are not private but shared across all rooms on the length of that floor. you can still enjoy the peacefulness if you are overlooking the large grassy and flowered grounds. You can hear people above you and some loud people if you leave the balcony door open, but it is worth getting the fresh air.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony so you can enjoy fresh air and see the surrounding greenery.

not bad not good, it's a comfortable hotel, good for business, less for tourism. It is somehow far away from everything, but the rooms are comfortable and the decor is not bad. Service was OK, friendly and efficient.
