Went to the Anatolian Table with two lady friends for lunch as I had read some good reviews over the past couple of years and very much enjoyed the food we had when my husband and I visited Turkey in November 2010. We each ordered different entrees and also ordered 2 appetizers and 2 different desserts to share. The appetizers arrived pipping hot and were both simply scrumptious, especially the stuffed mushrooms. The entrees were served with a light salad of greens and red onions in a very tasty not-overwhelming vinaigrette. I ordered the ground lamb skewer, which was perfectly seasoned. Both of my friends ordered chicken, but one chose a skewer and the other cubed chicken over rice. All the entrees were served with yummy yogurt made fresh on site. My friends both loved their entrees and salads. When it came time for dessert, the waiter, who was from Izmer, Turkey, suggested the shredded wheat dessert with honey, walnuts, and cheese that was served hot with a garnish of chopped pistachios. We also chose an order of rice pudding. Both desserts were wonderful, but the shredded wheat dessert was absolutely sublime. Be sure to order it if u visit this restaurant, which I heartedly recommend. The owner, who is also the chef, visited with us a bit and told us he strives to only use top quality ingredients and to keep the menu as authentically Turkish as possible. The menu is quite extensive and the items are explained in English so u can understand what you are ordering. We all agreed that the restaurant exceeded our expectations.

Mediocre food in skimpy portions. Sticky (dirty) table. We love the Vanilla Bean Turkish restaurant in Sacramento, so were very disappointed. Will not return.
