The Mission Inn is a nice place to visit any time of year, but especially around the holidays. Besides the several restaurants, including upscale Dwayne's, and a mid range Mexican restaurant, there is also the Presidential Lounge for a cocktail. During the Christmas Holiday the Inn is decorated beautifully with lots to do and see within walking distance. There are boutique style shops (my fave Mrs. Tiggy Winkles) and several restaurants just a short jaunt from the Mission Inn. During the holidays there are street vendors and an ice skating rink. Most Saturdays there is a farmer's market down town as well. If you're looking for relaxation the Mission Inn has a lovely pool area, but the real relaxation comes with a visit to Kelly's Spa just steps away from the pool area at the Inn. A girlfriend and I opted for the couples massage (in the same room) to save a few bucks and the steam room and cucumber water...aaahhhhh. If you live in so cal a visit to the Mission Inn is a must.

We ate at the Mexican restaurant, the Italian restaurant, and the one in the courtyard. Each experience was delightful.

The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is limited. The food was great but very pricey. Breakfast for 3 was $60.00 without tip and that was not the brunch. Lunch was $65.00 without tip.

Had drinks in the President lounge and lunch on the patio. Top notch service and quality food. Tour the hotel before you leave, a most interesting place. Check the birds that talk, they say "hello".
