“good but too much salt”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2012

the place is great, the food is good, but the sodium content in every meal is off the charts.
Had to stop eating there for that reason.

“Panera provides only half a loaf of taste and comfort”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2012

Although very popular during the lunch hour for the local working crowd, its a bit of an obstacle course to nail down comfortable and convenient dining at Panera Bread. Parking is often distant from their front door, the lines are long and the menu boards are excessively confusing when you coordinate the ingredients, bread styles, drinks and so on. This resulted in everyone in our party of four being delayed and not getting what they ordered when the food was presented at the table.

The breads looked great from the oven but only tasted average for a "gourmet bakery" as Panera pretends to be. The sandwich fillings were barely a step above Subway. My tuna sandwich's filling amounted to little more than a dab of mayonnaise-y meat. My companions claimed the rice soup tasted "like out of a can". The over-worked waiter was our best friend, making four trips back to our table to correct our ordered menu items.

The Wi-fi crowd seemed to occupy a high proportion of available tables and should be subject to time limits, but apparently are not. The tiny tables made dining difficult and are not kid-friendly. However, if some of these demerits could be remedied, The Monk (that's me) would dine here more often. Then I might be in a better mood to try Panera's cookies and other plush desserts. Bottom line: If you work nearby, Panera's is OK and reasonably priced but there are a lot of other options in this vicinity.

“Nice place to sit outside ..... but ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2011

If you are coming for a bagel and coffee or tea it's pretty good. However...anything more than that is just not that exciting. Lunches are not too creative or tasty. I had the asian salad and the low cal/fat dressing was not good. There are many other better choices in town.
