My first experience of a Marriot I’m usually a Holiday Inn user but it was close to the B52s concert. Overall impression was quite good, rooms large clean and comfortable, breakfast and evening meal was very good. Price of internet access was ridiculous though and for some reason we were only given two paper disposable cups to make our teas and coffees in (what happened to china mugs?). Nearly very good but not quite enough to lure me away from HI.

Checking in was a nightmare as the did not have the extras we were promised during reserving the room. The staff was rude, we paid extra for a bell hop who was supposed to help us with our bags. They never came. The hotel was clean but overall I didn't like the staff.

Was surprised this was a Marrott Hotel, would have been staying at a different hotel. Stayed here because of location to convention center. On arrival, outside looked nice, kept up, and clean; clerk at check-in could of had a couple of lessons on customer service. Upon going down the hall, I found 3 rooms with dirty dishes on the outside and this was 3 pm and the dishes were still there when the maids were done cleaning. Bath tub faucet did not work, makes me think how they cleaned the tub. Was upgraded to another room on the 12th floor, was not told it was under construction and not told what came with the upgrade.

I booked a 2 night stay here and checked out the next day. It's an old Marriott that is going through renovation. It bothered me that they would charge the rates they did with all the inconveniences. When I checked in, I was immediately informed that the power would be out half of the day I was there and they didn't seem to lower the rate. I had a problem with this. The rooms were old and dusty and It felt dirty and dark. The lighting was bad and the windows were dirty. They downtown area seemed old and in need of a lift itself. Lastly, the concierge lounge was temporarily moved to the 4th floor and it too was an inconvenience.

There really wasn't anything bad about this hotel. The staff was great, the rooms were nice, the restaurant was OK. If I had to complain about something, it would be the charge for internet access. $13 per day. I still can't believe this class of hotel still charges for something I can get for free at La Quinta, Comfort Inn, Super 8, etc. Come on Mr. Marriott, the rate for this place seemed to be high enough to justify free internet!!!

"Have participated in several conferences with another clients at this hotel. Always excellent service; rooms are comfortable and quiet. Room service is quick and average price. Surrounding restaurants, businesses are friendly and affordable. I am a rewards member, and proud of it".

This is my second visit to this hotel and stayed for 3 nights as before. However, after night one, was told I had to move rooms and was offered a dis-abled room with a walk in shower backing onto the lift shaft. The reason being, 300 school children were to stay for a 'mock trail' in the Convention Centre. There were already 150 paying guest who I felt were 'put on the back burner'! One lift was unservicable due to the kids playing in them at all hours and the corridors of each level turned into school common rooms. If our party had been informed on day one of the trip we certainly would have gone else where. Staff tried their best but the place was bedlem and not a teacher to be seen. A normally enjoyable stay was completely ruined.
