Nice Marriott with pretty standard Marriott room. Bathroom small with a mirror that only comes to my chin, but shower was great. If you are going to eat at Marriott restaurant ask front desk for 500 rewards point card and get an extra 500 rewards points for dining. Staff was helpful and wanted to please.

The most impressive thing is the hospitality and personal service. I teach at a nearby university and stay often. They have on my profile my preferred room and even my preferred newspaper, and I'm always welcomed with a smile. It's very close to the Mission Inn, which is a much more elaborate (and expensive) place. But while the Mission Inn is institutional and the rooms sometimes fabulous and sometimes spotty, the Marriot provides a warmer if more standard environment.

We read previous reviews and honestly were worried. "Seedy area" did not bode well, but the management was so responsive, we went ahead and booked a two night stay for a wedding at the VERY near by Mission Inn. Our room was quite large with a sofa, refrigerator and microwave, along with the King Bed. Housekeeping is impeccable. They do a good job here. Calls to make requests were answered using our names and taking care of us immediately. The hotel is on a main street but we heard no noise. We were literally less than a block from Mission Inn and were assured by our shuttle driver over to the wedding that the walk back to our hotel was safe and easy and it was! This half block is a nice little boutique shopping area, antiques shops, a breakfast venue, a great hair salon (Manhattans-Ariana was super) and a Farmers Market on Saturday morning. In the evening our walk back was pleasant and easy - less than 3 minutes, literally. Honestly, we never felt anything was "seedy". The Starbucks a quick block away, next to the CVS does have homeless people in the parking lot. They were slow and gave you a better look at the people coming and going -- this might have been what put off other reviewers. Just don't go there and you don't have to see anything that might make you uncomfortable. Hotel has a coffee service, serving Starbucks. Half a block toward Mission Inn has a great breakfast place. This is a good value and clean hotel. Staff work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Kudos to all of them.

Since the moment I walked in to this property I was greeted with a smile. I felt welcome and the front desk staff was very accommodating with my requests for a King bed on a high floor. The restaurant was very nice and the steak salad was excellent. The server that helped me was nice, personable, and pleasant to talk to. The bar/lounge also had great service and the staff was attentive and fun. Thank you to the staff at the Riverside Marriott for making me feel special and I look forward to returning soon.

I spent two nights at the Riverside Marriott for some customer implementations in the area. The rooms were what you expect from a major Marriott chain: Clean, comfortable, well laid out and easy to access. In addition to my room I spent some time in the Concierge lounge which was quite nice. The view of the surrounding area from the balcony is fantastic.

The hotel is next to a major construction area where it appears they're building a convention center or something similar. During waking hours it was loud, but there's nothing the Marriott can do about that.

If you're looking for a good place to stay in the Riverside area I would highly recommend the Marriott.

I have such great memories of this particular Marriott going back to 2008. Well situated for walking over to the Riverside Museum, the shops around the Mission Inn, and so many great restaurants. The concierge level is superb, was always well staffed and people helpful. Mrs. Brown was a treasure during our early stays, then others followed who helped too. Clean, modern, nice restaurant, nice patio area for cigars and your own bottle of wine, nice bar. Just an overall pleasant visit anytime we were there. And Riverside isn't far from the Temecula wine region!!

Room Tip: Just an all around well run property, close to everything I wanted!

The Riverside Marriott at the Convention Center is located in downtown Riverside, about 15 minutes away from the University of California Riverside.

Although okay during the day, the area seems a little seedy at night.

The parking garage is a respectable $8 night. As you enter the hotel from the parking garage, the front desk is to the left. Although somewhat small, the lobby seems fairly spacious due to the high ceilings. The lobby is brightly decorated with seating throughout and a “fireplace” to give a more homely feel.

Check-in was efficient. I was given a room on one of the Concierge Levels right across from the lounge, which is unfortunately closed on the weekends as is the case with most Marriotts.

Upon entering the room, the bathroom is to the right. The bathroom is somewhat small but clean with a fair amount of counter space. Bath & Body Works amenities are provided.

The dresser and TV are situated along the left side of the room. Thee is a small refrigerator in the cabinet on the left.

The desk is next to the dresser and TV. One thing I don’t like about Marriott is that there are usually two parts to the desk. The main desk is “fixed” but there is usually another section of the desk underneath which needs to be pulled out in order to do any type of computer work. Unless you are Shaq, typing on the main part of the desk would be quite a task as it is very high. Fortunately, there was a side drawer that provided extra work space that made working much easier.

There is a chair with a small table in the corner which I would imagine goes largely unused.

The bed is very comfortable, as are the pillows. As I arrived late, turn down service must have been provided as there were two chocolates on the bed.

Unfortunately there was some type of convention going on in the hotel. There were hundreds of teenagers running around and screaming throughout most of the stay. Although the hotel could not control that many kids, I did appreciate being placed on a higher level with no kids on the floor so it made the stay more pleasant.

As the lounge is closed on the weekends, Marriott Gold & Platinum members will get access to the full breakfast buffet in the restaurant which includes an omelet station. The buffet contains the usual suspects such as eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and oatmeal as hot options. Cold options include cereals, breads, pastries, yogurt and fruit.

The Riverside Marriott at the Convention Center is centrally located if being downtown is important. Service was pleasant and friendly, and being provided the full breakfast buffet rather than having an upcharge was a nice touch.
