“Great steak, with great service”
Reviewed August 17, 2014 via mobile

We had really fantastic dinner here. From arrival the waiters swarmed around us, were extremely attentive and professional.

The steak Diane was perfectly cooked, tasty and juicy. And with an excellent sauce over it. The gulf shrimp and filet was also first class. The shrimp very fresh and the red wine sauce with mashed potato on the side made the combination perfect.

The drinks perfect. The dirty martini exactly how it's supposed to be and Virgin Mary also good.

The cheesecake was truly awesome.

The place, as expected, comes a at a price. Without appetizers the bill topped $125 for two, so careful if on a budget.

“Superb Dining, Relaxed Atmosphere, 5-Star Service”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

Duane’s is The Mission Inn Hotel’s version of Maestro’s Beverly Hills serving up the finest selections of meats and seafood. An excellent wine list is available, with knowledgeable hosts and an endless parade of very attentive and helpful staff. You will indeed pay for this privilege, too, especially if you are generous in your gratuities (which I certainly am), but each visit here proves memorable and bolsters our desire to return. We come here for special getaways, though this time it was for our anniversary. But the restaurant is also a popular destination for upscale business meetings or other occasions regardless of whether you stay at the hotel. My Onion Soup was delicate and very flavorful, the Porterhouse and Fillet steaks perfectly cooked, the Lobster mouthwateringly succulent and side dishes entirely savory. As a bonus, we were surprised with a celebratory portion of the most decadent Bread Pudding we’ve had in years.

“Dinner for two”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Start off with Lobster Tempura. Two Australian lobster tails with a sweet orange-chili sauce. Accompany that with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Wine is available in full glasses, half glasses, and quarter glass servings if you want to create a tasting flight. Follow that up with Chateaubriand, medium rare, with mixed vegies. That goes down nicely with a glass of Pinot Noir. Don't like their choice of vegies? No problem. My wife opted for garlic mashed potatoes. Served tableside, when cut the meat was just a tad too rare for our taste. No problem. Put back on the pan for 15 seconds, and it was utterly delicious. Of course we ordered the chocolate soufflé for desert, even though we weren't hungry after eating the appetizer. Paired nicely with the remnants of our Pinot Nor. Dinner for three, at least (we took some home), and all in all, a fabulous dinner for two. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Definitely!
