Get the fried chicken. Cholesterol be damned--it's plain worth it!

Otherwise, wonderful, friendly service. Very inviting atmosphere. A bit loud depending on time of day. My partner got breakfast which was cooked well and appetizing...but not as good as the fried chicken, collards and black-eyed peas!

Had the Country fried prime rib here. It sounds awesome until you try it. Usually you can add salt to your food if it's under salted, but there is nothing you can do with this plate of salt lick. The prime rib was cut thin and cooked to well done.

The restaurant itself could use an overall cleaning of the furniture and light fixtures.

The service was prompt and friendly, so there is hope.

What I love about this place is not only the down home atmosphere but the delicious Kountry cooking! My favorite is the porkchops and I also love the open faced turkey sandwich.
The prices are reasonable, the servers are always attentive and the food is just what you would expect.
I had the Rhubarb cobbler with icecream for dessert and it was amazing! The tartness of the Rhubabrb and the rich creamy vanilla ice Cream tasted fresh out of the churn.
The only bad thing I can say is that sometimes you can be seated next to some loud people .

I have been to Kountry Folks 4 times now (1 breakfast and 3 lunches).

THE FOOD:
While the breakfast seemed on par with a Denny's or IHOP breakfast the lunches have been outstanding.

So far I have tried the Blackened Chicken Salad, Chicken Bacon n swiss sandwich, and the monte cristo sandwich.

The blackened chicken was some of the best I have ever had and I absolutely loved their ranch dressing.

The Chicken sandwich was juicy and full of flavor. The melted swiss cheese and dijon mustard make the sandwich worth every penny.

The Monte Cristo is very good. While not as good as the ones they serve at Bennigans it is still a great sandwich.

THE SERVICE
The service was very friendly and prompt. The waitress was full of smiles and didn't delay in bringing us anything that was ask for. The owner even came out and chatted with us.

Just the simple fact that the owner takes time to converse with his customers proves Kountry Folks to have service that is a cut above the rest and really sets in stone the "good ol' days" feeling that Abe F. mentioned in his review.

In summary, Kountry Folks is definitely not the place for ambiance, romance, or a fine dining experience; however, if you are looking for a great tasting, moderately priced, casual, good ol' American dining experience then definitely give this place a try.
