“An architectural masterpiece”
Review of Mission Inn Museum

Mission Inn Museum
Ranked #4 of 44 things to do in Riverside
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 27, 2012

Whenever we have guests visiting us, we always take them to the Mission Inn. The Mission Inn dates back to 1903 and is one of Riverside's greatest treasures. The Mission Inn is made up of many different architectural styles and they all magically work together to create this beautiful landmark. Take some time to explore this historic place...youl'll find a surprise around every corner.

When we are home, we try to go here on Christmas Eve. It is magical. The carolers, the horse drawn carriages, the Presidents Lounge and Duanes for dinner. iI doesn't get any better than that.

This is always a favorite, especially at Christmas. There is so much effort put into making the displays spectacular. A must see for the entire family!

While at the Mission Inn, it's worth it to take a stroll through their small museum and gift shop. The museum has exhibits related to the hotel's history and founder, as well as old photos of the area (and some lovely landscape paintings). It's very small, but interesting. The gift shop includes both quality (hand crafted bells, etc) and fun (citrus-label magnets) items and has a good selection of books about area history, the citrus industry, air history (there was a SAC base there), and California in general.
