“One of the nicer options in Ridgecrest”
Reviewed May 12, 2009

This Comfort Inn in Ridgecrest seemed to be one of the newer/nicer places to stay in town. It is everything you would expect from a Comfort Inn, nice bed, standard room and continental breakfast. This was a good place to stop on the way to Death Valley National Park (although the park is still a couple hours away from town).

We stayed for only one night on our way to Death Valley. It was easy to find and access is excellent.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the rooms very spacious, clean and well equipped and the included breakfast was good and provided in a very spacious and comforable area.
This is a great stop-over location as Ridgecrest does not have much to offer in the way of restaurants.

We stopped over for one night on way from Death Valley to Bakersfield. They gave us a good rate and lovely room for a family of five. The room was clean and well furnished. We loved it.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Ridgecrest for 2 nights and it was wonderful! The room looked like it must have been updated. Large room, beautifully decorated. We were towards the front, upstairs, and we couldn't hear the street at all. Beds and pillows very comfortable. We went down there to see our son play baseball at the college so we took him out to breakfast, thus didn't try the hotel's breakfast.
Swimming pool looked nice, small, but we didn't go swimming.
We will stay here every time we go to Ridgecrest.
Oh, and the manager offered us a large discount when we called to get rates. We were already in town and called several hotels for rates. Comfort Inn's was the best. We went to a couple of other hotels to look at their rooms and went to CI and looked at their room and it was by far, by far, the nicest!
Heritage Inn's rooms were the same price and were very, very old and worn, musty smell.....

Stayed for one night. Room was clean and it was great to see that the sink was in the bathroom (which is rare for a comfort inn). There were two unfolding holders for our luggage. And room and hotel were clean and the breakfast was great -- the breakfast area was kept clean and tidy all the time. The person who checked us in also recommended a restaurant that turned out to serve great mexican food (casa corona). The staff was friendly and nice. They don't have nylon bags inside the trash bins in the room, and this is comfort inn policy to assure the bins are washed after each visit (we asked..).

We visited this hotel for one night because of the near location to Death Valley. The Room was clean and okay. We got a queen size bed. The AC was very loud, also the room was not very good isolated, because we heared the AC of a lot of other rooms. Anyway, for a one night stay near Death Valley I can recommend this hotel.

Stopped for one night on our way to the kern river.
Did not book, liked the look of the place from the road (kerb appeal)
Polite and helpful lady on reception, she asked a cheerful maid to show us a room, king bed, very spacious light and airy, with tub and shower.Fridge and micro wave, and a good price, with continental breakfast included. We decided to stay.
Used the pool, and agree with previous review that it is near the road, but after a long drive it was just what we needed. Nice area plenty of loungers tables and chairs and sun shades, which we used as it was very hot.
In the evening we walked 10 mins to the business area, where the shops and cafes were holding a WINE WALK. Plenty of locals who were very friendly to two stangers from the UK, and explained, buy a glass for $10, walk from shop to shop filling your glass as you went round. It was also a way of generating more business.
It was a great social evening and very enjoyable.
Slept well that night in our comfy big bed, and went to the breakfast the next morning, yes it is a small room, but lucky for us not many for breakfast, we had our fill and it was nice.
