“Perfect Sunday brunch”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

My party of six had a perfect Sunday brunch here yesterday. The only glitch was that the host apparently got my name wrong and we were initially escorted to a smaller table, but we were quickly given a nice table for six in a quiet indoor corner. We wanted indoor seating as it was much quieter. There were two parties of about 15 as in addition to poorly played Mexican style music outside in a well covered dining area. There were few diners inside and the door to the outside was open so we had a nice gentle breeze from San Francisco Bay, but no noise came through the doorway which was twenty feet away from our table. We had a view of the harbor through the large windows.

Service was perfect, although a bit on the cold side. Diners can order blue bottle Saratoga sparkling water which is the best bottled water I have ever tasted. It is free of sodium and most other reportable minerals.

We started with two appetizer plates. One had lightly fried shellfish, onions, and green beans. The other had smoked salmon on french bread and two vegetable items. Both were perfectly delicious. Be aware that unlike these two fixed price items, the Mediterranean appetizer plate is charged $9 per person and can be very expensive for a large party.

My main course was perfectly cooked salmon with a very light honey style glaze served over greens and tomatoes in a light vinaigrette dressing. I tasted my wife's delicious crab Louie salad. The other diners also marked on the perfection of their meals.

The restaurant was well under half full between 11:30 and 1:00, both indoors and outdoors, and its website did not provide for Sunday brunch reservations for future dates. I hope they continue to serve Sunday brunch. I have also eaten lunch here during the week and it was just as perfect.

“Expected more based on other reviews”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

Nice view of water, but food is really priced at the high end for what really if you took away the ambiance, you could get the same quality at an Olive Garden or tgi Fridays. The restaurant however, is so close to oracle it cannot fail. So go here if you need to be in the area, enjoy the pretty good wine list and well mixed cocktails and accept that the food will be so-so, but the payback is the great location over the water and great service. Too bad someone does not light a fire under the chef.

“Oracle central”

You will see the oracle crowd here but for good reason. Great food. Love the bread. Salads are great here. So are the drinks and entrees.

“Cruising altitude...”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

I have been to this place more times than I care to remember over the last 12 years... I work for a very large software company which is 5 minutes away and this restaurant is pretty much our "cantine" ... That never ending supply of business customers probably explains the rest of my review

The setup is nice with a terrasse outside and the food is usually good although rarely waouw... The wine list is well built around good Californian producers ...

the issue with the place is that they are basically at cruising altitude and are not really doing anything new...

The menu has barely changed over the last 12 years beyond changing the side dishes... the "special of the day" has always been an alaskan halibut to the point where it's an internal joke in our group when we go there... why was this poor halibut never added to the menu after all those years of loyal service I wonder... Special mention to their ahi tuna which is always excellent

Price wise, it's above comparable restaurants in the area ...

Perfect for business dinners: good, predictable, close by... becomes a little bit repetitive after a while...
