“One of the worst Holiday Inns.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2012

My parents and ourselves frequent Holiday Inns when traveling. We were recommended to try this location as it was a little less expensive than the other location in Redwood City, bad referral. The Central RWC location has terrible shower heads, filthy carpeting (turned our socks black after a short time), poor access from El Camino (lots of traffic, so poor access) and just not worth the money. The health department or general inspectors should frequent this place and it would probably fail on many items.

We booked a block of rooms for our immediate and extended family for Thanksgiving. We chose to stay here vs the other place we usually stayed out for the convenience our all our family members The location is a little difficult for getting in and out. The front desk is delightful and courteous. The breakfasts was good and coffee hot. Our room was dirty and 'swiped' down as the bathroom switch had dirt and prints all over it and bobby pins and stray paper by the bed. There is no room or hotel safe. My cousin had a money belt with a lot of money since he was traveling from out of state. The day before we left, he found the money belt was stolen from his luggage in his room. He reported it to the front desk and they told him there was nothing they could do about it. So...'heads up' if you are considering this hotel

Just a short drive to Stanford Hospital, this place was an excellent choice. The staff was great and made sure I had all that I needed to make my stay comfortable and headache free! Large very clean rooms and what seemed to be incredible sound proofing, made my sleep time very enjoyable. The breakfast had the usual HIE staples and added a fantastic staff member ready to help me or refill the items. The staff also knows the area well which made getting around very simple.

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms seem to be almost completely silent!

Holiday Inn Express with really really clean rooms and common areas. I have stayed there before and this time used the Fitness Room, which is equipped with basic stuff but has nice touches like a wall mounted tv, glass block wall and lots of mirrors...made it feel quite safe and you have to use your key to get in. The staff is very attentive and positive-minded and made it a really nice stay, especially because I was by myself.

Room Tip: Rooms are quiet considering it's such a busy street!

Let me start by saying the rooms were newly renovated and clean, however the experience was ruined by some bad bad customer service.

Some lady named Matza (or something that sounded like that) was watching the front desk today. I asked for a late room service at 5pm because I had been sleeping all day from working 12 hours the night before and this lady practically screamed at me for requesting. With an attitude, she said, "NOW!!??? THERE IS NO MORE HOUSEKEEPING. YOU CAN HAVE TOWELS IF YOU WANT." Awful awful customer service from this woman. This happened Nov 2 at 5pm.

On a brighter note, a much more pleasant person, her name was Melinda, helped me during check in and was very professional and welcoming. This Matza lady needs to be disciplined by management to be more polite and have SOME customer service skills because right now she has ZERO.

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed at. They had everything you could need in the room. The refrigerator and microwave were perfect for heating up left overs and saving some money. The beds were so comfortable and the room was spacious. Breakfast was always very good. The staff was excellent. The halls were nice and quiet and the location was perfect! The only thing is they don't have a pool. We weren't turned off by this because we had so many other things to see while we were in town.

Room Tip: Rooms at the very end of the hallway may not have elevator access but they are very quiet!

My family and I stayed here 1 night after visiting family because we did not want to drive 45 miles home at midnight. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was great. Melinda at the front desk was very courteous and friendly. We recommend this hotel to everyone.
