“Great flavors and consistent quality!”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

We have enjoyed dining at Crouching Tiger since re-locating to RWC in 2009. It is our "go to" for flavorful Chinese/Thai dishes. The menu has tremendous variety, and there are still many choices we have not had a chance to try even after dining here for 4 years.

We always enjoy the sesame chicken and combination chow fun, and then try a few other dishes. The variety is such that we frequently can't remember the name of a dish we enjoyed, so it may be a good idea to note what you really like here.

The service is good, but at times it can be crowded, it is an intimate sized room, but tight on space. There are a couple of tables for larger groups, and if they you are seated near these it can be difficult to hear anything. The decor is modern, rather than old school Chinese/Thai, which is very refreshing. Rather than a big smelly fish tank in the space, they have a high-def video of an aquarium. Relaxing without the aroma!

Clearly the quality food, flavors and reputation have become more public. We see more crowds than before, which is great to know their business is sustaining the rough economy, it does make it more challenging to walk-in for a table. Be patient, it is worth the wait!

“Crouching tiger 'hidden' gem!”
Reviewed October 2, 2013 via mobile

Definitely try the dry beef and the Mongolian beef. The dry prawns are good.

Finish your meal with the sorbet!

“Delicious food, swift service”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Having found this restaurant on google 3 hours prior to dining, I was pleasantly suprised with what I found!
The menu was vast and reasonably priced, the service and food delivery was swift, and all of the food was very tasty and freshly cooked.
We had spicy prawns, the cold noodles and chicken and vegetables and each had their own individual fresh flavour with lots of depth.
I will definitely revisit when I am back in San Francisco!

“By far the best chinese food in the area”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

It's not easy finding good chinese food on the SF Bay peninsula. Almost all the chinese places are just terrible -- bad quality vegetables and meat. That is not the case here.

This place is great. Fresh, good quality ingredients. Good pot stickers and broccoli beef. Dry sauteed green beans are very good -- if you like more spice you can eat the pepper pods that come in the dish, if you avoid them the dish is pretty tame. I really haven't tried anything here that wasn't very good to excellent. This is THE only place to order chinese food in Redwood City.

If you get takeout, you can park in the lot in back and use the back entrance.
