Thanks for the response Brandon,

Glad you were able to come up from Dallas and enjoy our fantastic new hotel and we are excited you had an excellent stay.

We appreciate you pointing out our helpful staff, this team is one of the best I have worked with and they truly care about making a difference for our guests at every opportunity. It is great you saw that, and I look forward to this team creating memories for our future guests as well.

Come back and escape that Dallas heat soon. Thanks again Brandon.

I think this hotel has great potential as a brand new property.

Positives

1. Room. My studio was very large, well equipped with a large work desk, which is nice to see. Great kitchenette. Nice set of plugs to power the electronics easily available. Well thought out.

2. Internet. I paid for the upgrade, for which you get 6 mbps U/D. It's twice what I expect the minimum speed to be at any hotel. I'm not sure what the base speed is.

3. Qualify of food. Breakfast and afternoon meals above par compared to other properties.

4. Staff. No issues at all and very professional for new staff members.

Weaknesses

1. Noise. My room was facing the highway. It's obvious the designers installed sound resistant windows. Although it's initially impressive if you sit in the room for a few minutes, they didn't go far enough, not even close. If you actually try to sleep, if you can at all, in the room, you'll quickly realize how draining the constant low frequency drone from the highway is. I couldn't sleep at all and woke up exhausted. Seriously, if I was running this place, the rooms facing the highway would be offered at a steep discount. Also, as another frequent traveller pointed out, I also like to sleep with my window open. Can't do that here. Unfortunately this cannot be corrected now. The noise level is not really kept out, just heavily muffled. You'd need double or triple the current glass layer to truly cut it down to a prolonged comfortable level. The only hotels I have stayed at that have this level of insulation are a very few properties near LAX. However, the glass is easily an inch think if not more.

2. Bathroom. I would prefer to see glass over the shower instead of an old style tub and curtain. Nobody takes baths in those things anyhow.

In conclusion, I would refuse to pay more than $100/night, if that, for any room facing the highway. Likely the other side is much quieter. I also wonder why I wasn't asked for a preference given my status. Oh well.

Room Tip: Unless you grew up next to a heavily travelled highway or the train station, or cannot sleep with co...

Medicinewizard- Thanks for taking the time to provide us with a healthy dose of feedback.

Also, thanks for mentioning the great positives about out hotel! We agree, the spaciousness of our suites, the quality of our internet (which has more bandwidth than many of the large full service properties), our great food which we take pride in preparing each day with the goal to outshine our competition and lastly our phenomenal service focused team that I am so lucky to have are all big reasons why this hotel is special and one that Iam confident will impress our South Bay and LAX travelers.

As for the noise you incurred, we understand some guests are lighter sleepers than others, and for those guests we have a team here that will certainly do whatever is possible to have your room assiagned on the front side of the hotel when requested. Our hotel was built with fantastic double pane and high STC rated glass to keep the noise minimal. I stayed in these rooms for a few nights along the highway and slept like a baby. But for guests who prefer having the window open and/or who are sensitive to noise, we certainly have other options here at the same great hotel.

Hope you had a safe trip back home to Las Vegas and hope you join us again soon.

This is a brand new facility and I checked-in on it's first full day of operation on 5/23/14. It is in a campus that is well landscaped along with a very large Hilton Garden Inn. The grounds are surrounded by an 8' wall creating an inner space.
The important items you should know are:
1. All of the units on the back side of the building (facing east) are within 100' of the expressway. And though they have triple pane windows I knew I could not tolerate the traffic noise after about 30 seconds. Not to mention slightly opening the windows for fresh air.

2. I was transferred to a room on the front (facing west) which was ever so quiet. The view was about as ugly as it gets with large high tension power lines immediately next to the building, next to the power lines is a railroad spur line with old railroad cars sitting on it and beyond that a DSL warehouse. Essentially this is in an industrial park with not much in the way of restaurants nearby.

3. The rooms are much smaller than Residence Inns. I had a one bedroom unit that did not have room for a dining room table. The bedroom just had room enough for the bed. And most unusual of all, the closet was in the bathroom!!! You had to wait for someone to finish using the toilet to get your clothes. I was not comfortable in this apartment.

4. The real good feature is the price. It is a good price but should be considering the surroundings and the size of the rooms. They also have a $10 a day parking charge that they did not charge me. The free breakfast was decent.

Would I stay here again? Yes but it would be my 4th or 5th choice. I think I would rather pay more at one of the other Residence Inns in the area for a better experience.

Room Tip: Unless you have a high tolerance for noise, insist on a room on the front of the building away from...

Thanks for the response and detailed feedback Agia.

You are correct, our brand new hotel does sit alongside The 405 freeway which offers convienent access for our travelers. The hotel was built and designed with the fact we knew the proximity of the freeway and perception of noise could be a concern for our guests. The developers invested a great deal of time and money to have the hotel built with fantastic double pane windows made from very high STC graded glass to minimize any noise from the freeway, and we have been pleasently surprised with the results. Our great in-room clock radios or Ihome stations also come equipped with noise cancelling features, I personally enjoy the waterfall sound feature from them :)

I was surprised to hear that you felt our rooms were smaller than other Residence Inn's, as we offer suite options that range from a spacious 450sqft open floor plan studio to a 600 sqft Corner King Suite up to 700sqft Two bedroom Suite. I have had apartments smaller than all of those, nevermind hotel rooms.

We do have rooms that offer the closet inside the bedroom versus the bathroom. Our team loves to meet and exceed the needs of our guests, during future travels simply let us know and we will be sure to work toward getting you comfortable and accomodated.

We are one of the first Residence Inn's to have this great design package, full of all the great Residence Inn amenities (all suites, complimentary hot breakfast, evening social hour, sport court, fitness center, residential kitchens, patio, grille access, fire pit, free wifi, guest laundry, free grocery shopping services, etc), but with an amazing modern design and decor. I guess you could call us an Atypical Residence Inn, and we are okay with that as we feel these design differences are big advantages.

We hope you give us another chance to show you that this great team and great hotel should be your first chice when traveling to the South Bay area.
