Description: Hostaria Piave's mission is to present the everyday dishes that you would find at the family table of the people living in the small islands in the Venetian lagoon and the near countryside. Experience a unique and captivating menu, simple recipes radicated in the Venetian popular tradition that show the passion and the genuine hospitality of your "hoste". Buon Appetito!

If you find yourself in Redondo Beach, I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. Warm and inviting, the Venetian inspired cuisine is simply fantastic. Try it; you'll be hooked. The Bigoli “al Torchio” con le Sarde is absolutely off the charts good. Wow!

Very few restaurants offer the taste that is so balanced and simple. Hostaria is a welcoming place with wine list to hold your breath over. We had several dinners and tried different items on the menu, so far every one of them is a winner. The calm, not flashy but brilliant quality of the dishes created there, leave impression and make you want to come again. It is a great place for a quiet romantic dinner, as well as a loud friendly gathering!!

We had been at another Italian restaurant the night before we tried this one and Hostaria Piave was far and away the best. It was so good we went back to Hostaria Piave the next night also! What set it apart was the vibrantly fresh ingredients so very well prepared that the ingredients are the stars. They even made a simple mixed green salad impressive! It was the simple excellence of lettuces that seemed just plucked from a field and placed on a plate with superbly balanced dressing. The rest of our meals on both days just kept the high standard going. Beautiful ravioli, terrific roasted whole chicken and more. The wine list is extraordinarily extensive and impressive, but there were reasonable selections as well as high end. I only wish this was my neighborhood place in NYC! I plan to go back as soon as possible! The host/owner is very gracious and attentive.

After our meal, this is my favorite restaurant in the South Bay.

The menu offers specialties from the Veneto region, which are not easy to find outside Italy. This is not the more common southern Italian fare you'll find elsewhere, rather a lesser known and more refined regional Italian cuisine.

We started with an excellent fish-based antipasto, which included sarde in saor and baccalà mantecato. The first is a sweet/sour sardine, while the latter is whipped baccala fish.

My wife had a bollito misto - various boiled meats, which included beef, duck and even cotechino. They had a very delicate taste and was absolutely divine. The home-made gnocchi that I had melted in my mouth. The duck sauce they were accompanied with is not tomato-based, but excellent nonetheless.

The prosecco and refosco wines we had were very good, and the wine list was great overall.

There is not enough praise I can give this restaurant. The owner Angelo and his wife Anna were very friendly and I can only say they'll be seeing us much more frequently!
