I'm glad I didn't pay heed to all the nay sayers about this place. I wanted a hotel close to my sister's house. This was very close, it is also very close to the beach! Lobby- sad and dated with suicide-worthy music. Hallways- ugly and dark. Room- totally average but clean, large and well maintained with a little fridge. Bed- firm but comfortable. HVAC thing- loud but utilitarian I guess, luckily I didn't need to used it much. I found the hotel/motel overall to be very quiet, and comfortable. Expect what you are paying for! This is a reasonably priced Inn in a beach community! You want lots of ammenities, pay more and stay somewhere else. The smell- my room smelled fine, the hallways had the smell you would expect of a hotel of its age- a little musty and "old hotely" The lobby on the otherhand knocks you over the head with Glade plug-ins!!!! Yikes, that's a lot of springtime meadow!!!!Staff was very nice, room was cleaned and restocked with the appropriate things each day. I would not stay here for a "vacation" as such, but this was perfect for visiting family that lives in Redondo Beach.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms! upper floors, 3rd or 4th! worth the money for the view and balcony. The otherside...

I have been forced to stay here several times a year for at least the last ten years. I cannot stand this hotel and am finally compelled to write a review. The hotel is old and in need of a major overhaul or it needs to be leveled. They have bikes that you can take for a ride, which i have done but regretted it; the bikes are old and in disrepair. The hotel recently painted the rooms and halls with garish colors and artwork to 'spruce it up a bit'. The gym is tiny with poor lighting and I get the impression that it was once a storage room. The rooms are awful! The bathrooms creep me out every time i have to use them... they are old and gross! The sliding glass doors to the shower/tub is always broken in some way (i.e. missing handle). They is always some black mold growing somewhere in the tub. The shower head is level with my neck - I am average height for a man. The wi-fi is spotty at best. The wall paper is peeling off the walls. The a/c units sometimes don't work because they do not drain properly (a/c seems to have been an afterthought here, put in sometime in the last 10 years). The carpets are old, stained and burned by irons or something. The tub is old and unclean.

Room Tip: if you HAVE to stay here, try to get an "ocean view" room because it has a balcony with sl...

I just read that it has been painted. i would hated to have seen it before that. The elevators are nasty with paneling peeling off and brass with spill stains and very scratched up. Stayed on the fourth floor with a nice view of the ocean. The hallway carpet is very worn with big white stains? The water doesn't just come out of the shower head and the faucets and drains are well past their prime and turning brown. When you come in there is a sensor for the light to turn on; however, after a minute the light turns off. There is no way to keep the lamp on unless you continually walk up to the door (right). I called about this and she said a lot of people complain about that. No duh! Luckily there is a lamp by the bed. It is a small room by US standards and small bath also. Just very tired. Oh, and the pillows aren't not so much pillow as square, flat foam. My neck is still sore. Beds are very firm, if you like that sort of thing. No workout room either. I wouldn't go back.

Room Tip: To make it worth your while reserve a 4th floor ocean view.

I have stayed here many times before for work, I didn't care for it in the past. I felt it was a tired property, musty and in need of renovations. I arrived today & have been pleasantly surprised. It has been painted inside, what looks to be new carpeting and is much cleaner than in the past, most importantly as well, it wasn't musty. The location is great with many things to do, near the beach and many other attractions. I also experienced the most incredible Shiatsu massage next door at the PCH SPA, like no other I have ever had, today's was by Michele. Highly recommend it! Looking forward to a great night sleep in the great looking bed...good night!

Room Tip: My room is quiet, which faces south. I only experieced the service by the front desk which was very...

The updates done here look like they were done by a handiman. Very bad. Seemed dirty. Staff nice enough though when I decided not to stay. There are other places nearby that are about the same price and much better. Could be a great location...just needs a good overall renovation...looks good from the outside.

Room Tip: upper floor to looking to the parking lot is the direction of the ocean

I called to change dates and was told there would be a small fee (under $15)
and no other charges. Disputes with the charge and unbelieveable hassle
because they want another $100. Forget about the hotel it was terrible,
unbelieveably uncomfortable. I would rather sleep in my car!

This hotel is a complete and total dump... the only thing that saves it is the location, but that alone is NOT enough to mean that it should still be in business.

While the hallways have been recently remodeled, the rooms have not. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

The rooms do NOT have central air conditioning or even a wall unit. Instead, they have installed a portable A/C in every room that does little more then make noise. It uses evaporative cooling, so you will frequently have to call downstairs and ask them to empty the drain collection. In addition, the extra moisture in the room (and carpets, since it tends to leak onto them) makes for a nice mold-mildew smell.

The pool area is a disgrace, and I was frightened to even look at it...

If you enjoy sleeping on a concrete slab, the beds in this hotel are perfect for you, although don't expect much more then a thin piece of fabric for a pillow.

The front desk staff in ALWAYS rude and arrogant. I say "always" since I have stayed here on many occasions. (I should point out that it is NEVER my choice to stay here... this is one hotel that my company contracts with, so we go where they send us...)

Do yourself a favor, and avoid this shoddy place at all costs.

Room Tip: Odd numbered rooms have balconies, although a view of the roof and A/C units.
