4:30PM on a Monday. Feb 6, 2012. I went alone for a coffee and was happy to see mini donuts, so I decided to buy my children a treat. A full sized donut before dinner would be too much. 3 for $1.75, only 120 calories each. I bought Jox juice boxes to go with the donuts. 100% juice, no sugar added. For myself, a large coffee with non-fat milk. In addition, I bought a 3 pack of Madeleine's. Yum.
Jordan took my order and initially forgot my coffee. Although she asked if it was to go, and I said yes, nobody bagged my items, so I asked for a bag. Gabrielle bagged my items. The non-fat milk container was empty. Gabrielle replaced it upon request. Both employees are polite, but missing the little customer service details.
Although there are a lot of people in here, it is very quiet. With the exception of one lady doing her kid's homework, everyone is using a library voice. The radio is a perfect volume. Loud enough to hear, but not deafening. From the window seat I took, I can watch cars and people, and spy other restaurants and stores to visit.
(The coffee is for here, the kids treats were to go.)
I realized that I was charged $2.95 for a large iced coffee, instead of $2.15 for a large hot coffee. I asked if they were the same price and was told yes. They are not the same price.
I will always prefer Coffee Bean over Starbucks. Starbucks burns the coffee and doesn't have a decent tea selection. It is a bummer that I chose today to write a review because it was not a good representation of the service I usually get from a Coffee Bean. I'm disappointed.
