Very nice employees. Rooms are okay, but nothing stellar, about what you would expect. Be careful of which side of the hotel you sleep on, since you may get interstate noise.

Two criticisms: The HVAC system, which is one of those all heat or all cool sytems. If you want cool, and the heat is on, you are stuck. Also, the breakfast offered is not all that great. It won't kill you, but seems stingy. And if you see a banana, grab it quick!

Room Tip: Beware interstate side of hotel.

I didn't expect the Ritz, but this place was just worn out. The staff are very friendly and the bed was comfortable. But the property itself is dark, not particularly clean and in need of some rehab and maintenance. There look to be more modern options at the same price point very close by, and I will try one of them next time.

We stayed on a road trip with 2 year old twins and a large dog. We had been driving for about 10 hours by the time we reached the hotel and were exhausted, with 2 cranky kids (one of which had just thrown up). We went in to the lobby and had to wait about 15 minutes before it was our turn to get checked in. We got signed in then drove around to the back of the hotel where our room was, anxious to get the twins into the bathtub and clean them up. We got to our room, which was very nice, but discovered that it didn't have a bathtub. I called the front desk and was told they could switch us to a different room on the 2nd floor, and that it would be directly above the room we were in now. The babies flipped about getting back in their car seats after the long drive we'd just made, so we decided to walk/drag/carry them back to the lobby to get the new room key. The layout of the hotel is such that from our room, with 2 cranky toddlers, it took about 1/2 an hour to make the round trip walk to the lobby and back to our new room. So, be aware that if a bathtub is a requirement you need to tell them up front. Holding 2 vomit covered toddlers while you are checking in apparently isnt' enough of a clue to them that you might want to give your kids a bath. Once we got to the room and got the kids bathed, I needed to charge my phone. The first outlet I tried had metal pieces crammed into it. The 2nd one I tried was broken in half. I did finally find an outlet I could use. Then I took one of the twins and went downstairs to the 3 Shastas restaurant to get food to take back up to the room (I drove this time!). The waitresses there were extremely friendly, gave good recommendations and even offered to help carry the bag of food out to the car. When I got back to the room and opened up the food containers we were amazed. We had 2 roast beef dip sandwiches that were piled high, and also a cuban sandwich that was fantastic, best I've ever had. Including drinks and tip, the total came to $30, and was enough to feed 2 adults, 2 kids, throw a couple scraps to the dog, and end up still throwing away 1/2 of one of the sandwiches! We settled down to sleep finally, and found the beds extremely comfortable. The only problem during the night is that the a/c didn't work. I kept getting up and turning the thermostat down. The fan kept coming on but it wasn't blowing cold air. By the time morning rolled around the thermostat was set at 50, but it was at least 70 in the room. Overall I would recommend this hotel, but be aware of the bathtub situation, and be prepared to do some walking if you need to go to the lobby or vending machines. If you do stay here, try the 3 Shastas restaurant, it wasn't crowded when we were there, and the food and service was fantastic.

Room Tip: Unless you are okay with just a shower you need to request a room with a bathtub.

We choose this hotel based solely on its location to dining options. After a long day of skiing we wanted to be able to walk to nearby restaurants. If you’ve never been to Redding let me inform you that the City has an awkward lay out and one can easily get lost. We booked through expedia a standard double room and I was pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us to a king size, pool view room at no extra charge. They also gave us a 20% off coupon for our next stay. The hotel, lobby, pool, hallways, bar, and room are all what you would typically expect to find in a three star hotel.

We only encountered three minor problems during our stay. One being that the thermostat was stuck on 68 degrees. I realize that the hotel is trying to conserve energy for those warm summer months but for two people coming from the coast where the weather never gets over 58 degrees even during the summer. We found 68 degrees to be extremely warm during the night. This caused for us to sleep with the balcony door open which lead us to problem number two and three. The bar down stairs in the lobby had a band playing which was somewhat loud but even louder than that was the very large group of teenagers hanging out in the pool area until midnight. Even after we closed the balcony doors they could still be heard. We choose not to complain because we remember what it was like to be young once but we did feel that it was the staff’s job to put a time limit on the pool hours for the consideration of the rest of their guest. All in all, I would recommend this hotel based on its walking distance to nearby restaurants.

Room Tip: For a good nights sleep ask to be put at the back of the hotel - Although those rooms offer no view...

In a great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooms have some updating but the building is old. Our room spelled musty but once we opened the doors and aired it out it was fine.
Applebees and Logan's right across the street. We looked in on the grill in the hotel but there was NO one in there which is never a good sign for a eatery. We ate at Logans which was a fun experience with good food.

This hotel is pretty spacious and the kids enjoyed the pool. Also had a nicely equipped gym.
We had a couple of kids so their restaurant was not our style. In fact, it would have suited a sci fi movie.
Our dog was welcome and Applebeys was across the road for great ribs.
Hot breakfast was included and it was replenished often.
