The room we got was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the premises were quiet during our stay the week before Christmas. Front desk person was kind. Though there was no on-site hot breakfast, the voucher for the Lumberjack Restaurant was a great substitute. Nice place where local people ate. This Travelodge also provides a carry out bagged breakfast. Walking distance to the Arboretum and Sacramento River Trail. We were happy to have found this motel and recommend it to price conscious travelers.

It's true that this hotel is really worth the high rank in Tripadvisor. It has a tons of amenities that cannot even be dreamed of in a hotel of this class and price. I am not even going to mention that because they have all been detailed in other reviews.
What i found disappointing was some of the very basic features are not at par. For eg, two things i really look for in a hotel stay is 1. free wifi and 2. breakfast.
The wi fi was really slow, so painfully slow that i resorted to using my phone rather than my laptop. I do all my research on places to visit once I reach the hotel, with the wifi being practically unavailable, it was tough for me to plan the trip.
To get the free breakfast we had to drive a pretty good distance. If the restaurant was closeby I would have been ok with it, but this is like 5 miles away. Couldn't you guys find another restaurant to get into a deal with someplace closer!?
Apart from these two major issues, everything else was superb!. They even had guest laundry and gym, that's so cool, but not sure anyone uses it. Same goes for the full size refrigerator, do you really need it?

So i am really confused as to what I should say my experience was. One thing I can say is that it wasn't great.

Re: Wi-Fi:
In the last couple of weeks our free Wi-Fi was compromised for a few of our guests. We immediately contacted our IT provider and have worked intensively with them to resolve this issue. They performed extensive testing and determined that there are competing signals from other properties in our neighborhood that were affecting our signal in a few of our rooms. They recommended installation of additional equipment to correct the problem and authorized them to proceed so that we would have full optimization in all rooms. The corrective work is now complete.

Re: Complimentary Breakfast:
Our complimentary sit-down breakfast at Lumberjacks is only two exits South on I-5 (5-7 minute drive). Previously, for several years, we offered a complimentary sit-down breakfast at the restaurant next door to us. Two years ago this restaurant lost its lease and closed. A new operator has reopened the restaurant but they do not serve breakfast. We have contacted several other restaurants closer to us than Lumberjacks but they were unable to provide the services and amenities that Lumberjacks provides to our guests. Lumberjacks is rated the #1 breakfast location by Redding locals. We receive many kudos from our guests about them.

Re: Other Amenities
In reference to the guest laundry, gym and full size fridges, the feedback from our guests convinces us that all of these amenities are important to a large number of our guests. We are still Redding’s “Best Kept Lodging Secret.”

My wife and I stayed over Christmas at the Travelodge. What a wonderful place. We had a kitchenette room (very large!) on the main floor. Jill was the afternoon/evening person on the front desk and was delightful and very helpful.

A few tips:
- They have an odd room configuration: Kitchenettes have a full stove (four burners on top of an oven), a microwave and, oddly, a bar fridge. The bar fridge has a very, very small freezer part. There are other rooms, which don't have a stove, but do have a full fridge and freezer. You'll need to work around that.
- Kitchenettes do not come stocked with dishes by default. However they do have "bins" available at the front desk that have most of what you'll need (3 pots, 1 pan, 3 cookie sheets, colendar, bowl, plate, cutlery, spatula, slotted spoon, oven mitt, dish detergent, cutting board (though no sharp knives!), sponge, dish towels and a dish rag).-- I recommend you bring Aluminum Foil and Paper Towels as well. As I understand it though, there are fewer Kitchenette bins than there are Kitchenettes, so grab one as soon as you check in.

On to breakfast... breakfast has three options (for however many people have registered):
- You can pick up a bag breakfast at the front desk containing juice, yogourt, granola bars, a fruit cup, a spoon and a napkin.
- You can select from a list of options provided on the slip you're given at check in, which are small breakfasts served at Lumberjacks restaurant, a highly rated restaurant located about 8-10 minutes drive away. Each include your choice of apple juice, coffee or tea, and some of the options included: 2 eggs, hashbrowns and toast; french toast, sausage or bacon and one egg; oatmeal and toast; fruit cup and toast, etc. They are small sized breakfasts, but for many that would suffice. Your voucher will cover the full cost of breakfast, but you should probably tip the wait staff as if you paid for a $6 lunch.
- Alternately, you can order anything off the main Lumberjacks restaurant menu and they'll take $3.50 off the bill per person.

The beds (we had two queens) were very, very comfortable. The air conditioner, when on, was a bit loud, though wasn't needed due to the weather. The pool and hot tub are well maintained.

Highly recommended for a good room at a great rate. Keep an eye out for Wyndham promotion codes you can use there.
