We entered the museum after 2:30 pm and saved $5 off the price of a ticket. We found the museum interesting and informative. Enjoyed very much an art exhibit of photographs of the river and area. There was a class going on about bats when we arrived.

The gift shop has a coffee shop. From 3 to 5 in the afternoon on Sunday we enjoyed coffee and tea for $1.50 any size. We sat outside in the sunshine at cafe tables.

Across the river by Sundial bridge is the arboretum. My husband is a forester and enjoyed that. However, he complained that the tree species were not marked with signs.

Took my family and grandkids to this park in the spring. Had a great time, not too much walking involved, lots of animals to see (inside the building) and outside in caged areas. The kids loved the bird pavilion where they could feed the birds with small cups of nectar, and the birds would land on their heads, shoulders, hands. They have a playground area too. Would definitely go back as they have "featured" animals throughout the year and different displays.

Fun place for the kids to walk around and touch and learn. Downside...if you go in the summer it is very hard to enjoy the outside exhibits because of the heat of the Redding summers. Last trip they were the middle of a remodel and the butterfly and bird exhibit outside were closed.

disapointing for sure after reading reviews I thought this would be a good place to take our 5 yr old grandson, its about a 21/2 hour drive for us, we made it to the last animal show it was 30 min long they introduce you to some interesting birds, animals, but they are on and off the stage very quick. We visited the birdhouse{this was extra} bought some nectar it was cool the birds land all over you. Our grandson met some kids at the playground area. We visited the lego room and the science room all in all a couple of hours and we were ready to leave, it was very over priced.
