Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The facility is very currently decorated, and appears fresh and new. The only drawback was the slipery surface in the tub. That was a big concern for me and my husband. He is much more sure footed than I am, and he found the tub dangerously slippery. I mentioned it at check out and was told that tub mats were on back order. Seems to me that is a high priority for safety and risk management. Someone should make a trip to
WalMart and buy up all their tub mats, pronto. We would definitely stay there again, but I would call and ask about tub treatment before I would book here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the freeway.

As we drove up, I was a little concerned by the industrial appearance of the area. Once inside my fears were absolutely dismissed. The staff could not have been more helpful, kind and thoughtful. We had never been to the area before and the staff bent over backwards to get us acclimated and armed with the insider knowledge they possessed.

Our room was clean, bright, good sized and as good or better as most Marriott hotels we have been to over the years. We had no problems and enjoyed our stay so much we almost stayed another day just to relax.

Don't be thrown by the location's appearance, this is a very good hotel and very close to the freeway and any thing one might need during a stay. We would definitely stay here again!

We had planned to use the Fairfield Inn in Redding as our base since we went to the coast and Redwood National Park and then back to Redding before our visit Lassen National Park. Unfortunately, the extensive forest fires last month meant that Lassen was closed. We had the whole week based in Redding but visited other places until our last day when the roads to the park opened. We had an abbreviated visit to the park but did get to both the north and south entrances.
Fairfield Inn proved to be a good choice for our longer stay--clean, comfortable room; free breakfast; laundry room; pool, etc. We didn't regret staying there and would go back again.

Room Tip: Seems like all the rooms would be quiet, clean and comfortable.

We have stayed here twice before and think this hotel is wonderful. This time we were only 2 adults and had a King suite. It was roomy, clean and very comfortable. The bed was great and we slept really good after a long long of driving. We checked in late but our suite was really for us and the woman in the reception was very helpful with information about where to get something to eat at this late hour. The pool area was open later than most other hotels, but I still didn't get to try it which I wish I had. I did last time we were here and it was very nice. The hotel is located right by I-5, but you couldn't hear the freeway. We will be back to stay here again when we are in Redding. Next time I hope we arrive a little earlier in the evening so that we can enjoy the pool and spa area.

We stayed here for one night on a Saturday while driving to Canada and absolutely loved this property!

It looks and feels like a brand new building and even though it is right on the highway (our room overlooked it), you couldn't hear a thing!

Very modern and spacious, we were upgraded to a suite on the top floor which was a nice plus with a jacuzzi (that we didn't use, but looked inviting) with a separate shower and double sinks.

Free breakfast was great and had an excellent selection -- we loved the waffles!

Would highly recommend if you're passing through and looking to break up your drive. Although, I should mention there is a random cat in the lobby that didn't seem to belong to anyone, not sure if this is a consideration for those with allergies but based on other reviews, it seems to be a resident!

It is a bit pricier than I would've expected for the area, but the included breakfast kind of makes up for it -- and obviously the points if you're a Marriott Rewards points collector :)

There is a store / deli across from the hotel, but we didn't visit it and can't comment. There is also a Chevron gas station close by (not quite walking distance) to gas up for the next leg of your trip.

One restaurant recommendation: Janyas Thai, about a 7 minute drive from the hotel in a small shopping center, doesn't look like much and the service isn't spectacular, but the food was really good :)

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade and try to be on the top floor, facing the highway is not an issue.
