“Nice Place to stay”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

The hotel staff was wonderful. The problem I encountered with the reservation through booking.com was taken care of very quickly. I enjoyed staying here and would choose this hotel again the next time I travel to Red Bluff. The only thing that was a problem, the bed was not very comfortable.

This is a wonderful, pet friendly hotel with very comfortable beds and accommodations. It is about 10 minutes south of Redding, easy access off I-5, safe and quiet area, with several restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival. Breakfast is included with your stay, too. I highly recommend this hotel and will return next time we are traveling through.

This hotel is located right off I-5 and was a convenient stopping off point on our trip to Oregon. Despite the proximity we experience no freeway noise. Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the AC unit was effective and quiet. Noisy AC units are a pet peeve of mine and this hotel shows that you don't have to pay a big price to get good quality. Our king room was only $89 per night (senior rate). The bed and pillows and linens were of very good quality. There is a nice non-chain restaurant adjacent to the hotel with good, reasonable priced food. they open a t 6 AM and have very good breakfasts.

Room Tip: Our room was located at the farthest point possible from the freeway and we experienced no freeway n...

A very poorly run hotel! No on duty person in the breakfast room, so they were out of orange juice and there was NO HOT WATER!
Also, the door lock to the breakfast room did not work!
The back door and gates to the pool area were never locked!
The room was clean, but they had posted rules everywhere!

Dear Guest,

We apologize you had so many issues with your stay here. The last few weeks have been a very busy time for us, and as such, it can be hard to balance responsibility for our desk clerk, who must do both jobs on most days. We hope that regardless of your experience, you will give another chance to provide you superior customer service.

Finishing up my stay here this morning. Overall opinion is this hotel is a good value and decently kept and the staff, so far, has been friendly and helpful. Stayed in 115 on ground floor just down hall from lobby area. Considering ground floor and near lobby, pretty darned quiet. Slept soundly, something which is often problematical in ground floor rooms in hotels for myself. The footsteps on the ceiling thing. Yep, there was some, but other than that a bit last night and a dog barking (only one!) for awhile, it's been quiet here. Hotel looks about half or better full.

Here's an important consideration for pet owners. A lot of hotels/chains advertise 'pet friendly' but I'm finding that mostly means 'dog friendly and size and breed at the discretion of the hotel'. In my opinion, they simply need to state that, to differentiate their friendliness with pets other than dogs. This hotel was more liberal and even programmed 'pet friendly' rooms into its booking engine so a patron could reserve that in advance without calling.

The desk clerk didn't blink an eye regarding my pet Himalayan and the room met his discerning standards. I particularly liked how they constructed the bed pedestals, which disallows an animal from crawling underneath the bed. My cat tended to hang out under the edge of the bedspread at the foot of the bed against the pedestal.

The room was older but clean and well appointed. I was advised the refer was off (energy) at the front desk and had no problem firing it up and it was cold in no time. The bathroom condiments are indeed in dispensers. Perhaps an issue for some but not for me. If I need anything special, I bring it with me. I see it as an efficiency, amongst others, to allow the pricing of the hotel at a reasonable rate. Compared to other similar hotels on this trip, it's much less expensive and will actually accept my cat.

There's two entrances to the hotel and it's easy to miss the one on Antelope Drive (36). If you do, there's another lot entrance through the restaurant on Sale Ave. Yep, I missed the turn.

Would I stay here again? Yep, already have it booked for my return trip next week. I'll update with any observations at that time. Thanks for reading!

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms will be more quiet in general. For a pet owner, I found the room I stayed in, 115, to...

This BW Plus offers the standard good size clean room, with fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the king room. No surprises, except for the soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. Not a big deal, but we found the quality of these items was below par. I understand that individual items are a bit more money, not to mention the waste, but if you're looking for higher quality bathroom items, you better pack your own. Breakfast is complimentary, with the usual fare. There's only one waffle maker, so be prepared for a wait if you like waffles. Three minutes doesn't sound like a long time, until you're second in line. Oh well, that gives you plenty of time to wait for your email to download, since the wifi is painfully slow. Overall, it's a great place for the money, but could be perfect with some minor modifications.
