“A country drive rewards you to a gracious dining experience.”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

A recent review touted their extensive renovations, and after viewing the menu and photo gallery online, we decided to try their brunch/lunch offerings on a Sunday afternoon. The courtyard entryway to the resort/restaurant set the tone for our experience. We were immediately drawn in by the sounds of a bubbling fountain, patrons enjoying themselves and an inviting outdoor fireplace. Upon entering the restaurant through glass/wrought iron doors, we were warmly greeted by three at the hostess station. As we were shown to our table, we were struck by the sight of the large scaled chandeliers adorning the wooden ceiling trusses. The décor is both sophisticated and on trend. We were seated at a table with a wonderful vantage point of both the sunny courtyard and the main dining room, which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. We dined on a complimentary basket of baked pretzel inspired rolls and hummus, a savory fried egg and pancetta flatbread from the brunch menu, a Ranch Burger that was accompanied with a wonderful truffle aioli and the perfect lemon meringue tart! The only slight glitch was the sole waitress, though assisted by very attentive support staff, still seemed to be overwhelmed by the number of patrons. We will most definitely return to experience the dinner menu from an obviously talented kitchen crew and we anticipate the transformation of the room with an evening glow emanating from those grand chandeliers and the beautiful lapis colored fireplace and artwork.

“Great Ambiance, Good Service, OK Food”
Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

We went to Veladora to celebrate an anniversary & birthday. The restaurant is lovely- the fireplace in midroom was blazing and the subdued lighting made for an enchanting atmosphere. We were seated in a booth practically in the entrance - not desirable. But our waiter appeared instantly and throughout the evening the service was attentive.

We ordered drinks and appetizers (an amuse appeared first a puff with cheese wouldn't have been missed). The pork belly was huge enough for all four of us (we'd ordered 2) and delicious and the squash soup was good. The carrot salad was tiny and my husband wasn't happy with the portion.

Scallops were delicious, salmon yummy, carbonara good, but we were underwhelmed by the filet. The rice/risotto with the salmon was undercooked and crunchy. Fortunately we ended the evening with a shared apple crisp - yum.

We were pleased to find a Grunner Vetlinger on the wine list. The corkage fee was $30 for the bottle of French we'd brought.

Our friends visit the restaurant often and we'd recommend with remarks.

“Some of the best food we have ever eaten.”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

We had breakfast and dinner at Veladora. The lemon souflee pancakes for breakfast are heaven.
The filet mignon for dinner is like cutting butter with a knife...very tender and well seasoned...cooked to perfection. The Apple Crisp for dessert is a must.

“Calm, quiet dining. Great atmosphere”

Menu varied and excellent fish dishes served. Relaxed and friendly service. New furnishings are interesting and creative. Think they need more booths to accommodate four comfortably. Chairs and tables in center of room not as desirable.
