My husband and I have visited Terranea a few years ago for an anniversary weekend. The resort was perfect in every way. Upon our return visit we were happy to see the consistency in
in service, rooms and more. The one area that had declined was dining. The food we had
throughout the weekend was consistently poor for a property like Terranea. A simple burger
came as a thin, greasy patty, not the thick, juicy burger I imagined. Dinners served for our group in
private conference rooms were bland and un-imaginative. This made me think, "would I want to
recommend someone get married here?" The lounge is bustling with outdoor fireplaces and cozy
chairs and sofas creating a great ambience. The cocktail list is inspiring and the service attentive.
Overall, Terranea is an amazing location and resort. They just need to match the food to the
surroundings.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view of the spectacular coastline. However, stay away from 1st floor rooms if you...

Beautiful resort. There is no quick route to the hotel, but the drive is beautiful. Spent our first wedding night here and were treated like royalty. Had a bottle of champagne on ice wait for us in our room. Wonderful and friendly staff. We'll be back soon

Stayed here for one night when travelling the PCH from SFO to SAN. It was fabulous. Our room was luxurious and so quiet. We nada ground floor which allowed us to sit outside and walk the grounds easily. We saw a whale while walking to dinner, watched a gorgeous sunset and enjoyed the sound of the surf during the evening as well as a star filled sky. Hard to believe you are is close to LA! Worth treating yourself!

We are always looking for good weekend getaways in the LA area. Terranea was a recent find. We spent 3 days/2 nights at this well-run resort. Room was well-appointed and clean. Service throughout the resort was top-notch - friendly, courteous and unobtrusive. This includes the restaurants. We ate at 3 of them: Mar Sel (top of the line), Baihi (solid Asian), Catalina Grill (inconsistent quality).

There were many spots to stop, enjoy the view and hoist a beverage. There were choices of pools and a hot tub. We didn't utilize the spa, but will at a future visit - similar to Ojai Valley Inn. The property is a magnificent piece of coastline with vistas galore. There was a convenient coastline walking path that we took advantage of on both our 2nd and third days. We enjoyed a jazz trio briefly on Saturday night. We would have liked an opportunity for ballroom dancing, but nothing available. Ditto for a tennis court or two. This said, the ocean vistas compensated.

This is a lovely resort, gorgeous views, beautiful grounds but our trip was plagued from beginning to end by problems with the staff. It started at check-in, we encountered issues with all levels from reception, to bell, to restaurant and housekeeping. They seriously need to get their act together because they could get an excellent rating with just a little tweaking. There were minor other issues as well, such as quality of some of the towels, little issues with cleanliness but nothing that was as bad an the total incompetence of the hotel staff.

Room Tip: If you stay in one of the casitas, get an upstairs room - they have nice views of the ocean. The do...

Everything about Terranea is good, but nothing is superlative. Perhaps its biggest advantage is proximity to LAX, for those of us who are visiting from the east coast. Service is friendly and responsive. Restaurants are good but not spectacular. A nice place to spend a weekend.

Stayed at Terranea Resort for 10 days on a business trip. It was amazing, the service is spotless, room extremely comfortable, the bathroom is huge, and I mean HUGE, had a blindex shower and a spa bathtub with bath salts and oils included as a nice treat.
The views are breathtaking, my room had an ocean view and a nice little balcony. The resort is big enough that I could go for long jogs each morning, it had a gym too. I got a deep tissue massage in the spa that was like one of the best massages I ever had.
After a tough day of work, the heater/ac wasn't working properly in my room, I contacted the front desk and they quickly sent someone who fixed the problem in my room in like 20 minutes.

It is kind of a remote area, not too much going on in the area, but the place has like 5 restaurants and room service which is delicious too!
