My friend and I headed to the Westin for a girls weekend getaway. We were very impressed with our room. Very large, nicely decorated. Loved the heavenly beds, double sinks, fluffy robes, and double shower head! The resort has three pools. We layed out at the main pool the first day under one of the lovely cabanas. Pool service was excellent. The pool got a little loud with kids playing in the pool and water slide. However we found out that the pool closest to our room was an adult only pool and spent time there the next day. We also enjoyed the workout facilities as well as tennis courts. Our only complaint is that the maids were very talkative in the morning and the voices echoed through the complex.
Westin gets a big thumbs up!

I have stayed at this hotel / Timeshare in October 2003 and we are about to return in May 2005.

I am really surprised with the reviews being somewhat negative (?). We really liked the Westin Mission Hills Resort. The rooms were very large and nicely appointed. We had a full two-bedroom unit, unfortunately with no view of the fairways, but, nonetheless very comfortable: large king bedroom with fireplace and jacuzzi, shower for two, large living area with amenities that included Bose Wave radio, granite countertops, dining for six(6), fully equipped kitchen and then attached was a unit with partial kitchen, dinette, living area and queen bedded bedroom. Also, there were two patios and a BBQ for our own use. The pool area was large, not crowded and the staff very helpful. The golf courses attached to the property are awesome! Our only minor complaint was the restaurant at the timeshare was/is in need of some help and the sewers happened to be acting up with odours when we were there (just near the restaurant itself)... just little things. Overall, it is truly a 4 star.

We usually stay at Westins, W, Hyatt, Marriott, Celebrity Cruises, Fairmonts, etc., are the first to complain -- believe me (!), however, we found the standard here was very good and we look forward to spending time here again in a couple of months. Yes, the benefits of being attached to a major hotel increases the amenities available to all guests as well.

Just returned from a weekend stay. Had a wonderful time. Check in was quick and simply. The room was very nice - very large, clean and comfortable. The grounds were impeccible - even with all the rain! Staff was courteous and quick to respond. We requested more towels, etc. when we arrived in our room and they showed up in record time. I would definitely stay there again.

We booked a "Presidential Suite" for Thanksgiving weekend, a rare but needed splurge for us. The website describes the room as follows "Two bedroom Presidential Suites offer a parlor with vaulted ceilings, dining area, oversized baths with whirlpool tubs, and three outdoor patios. " Sounded wonderful. We couldn't have been more wrong. After waiting in a long line, the check-in process was slow and rude. When we got to our room, we were convinced they had given us the wrong room. There was no second bedroom, no vaulted ceilings, only 2 outdoor patios. We called the front desk and they said that the second bedroom is a connecting room that has to be booked separately. That would have been nice to know when booking the room! The front desk said there was nothing they could do about it because the hotel was completely booked. I feel that they are completely guilty of false advertising. The room was nothing as described on the website. Letters to the hotel and to Westin corporate headquarters have gone completely unanswered. I would have expected so much more from a "quality" hotel chain as Westin.

Spent a week at the Westin Mission Hills. A wonderful place to just hang out. Great Gas grill on the patio. Huge 1 bedroom suite. Only problem we had was ocassional parking woes and some noise from ongoing construction.

We would visit again.

We just returned from Palm Springs where we spent 8 days at this resort through our timeshare exchange. The resort is beautiful (exactly like the photo on the website) and very clean, but too spread out and difficult to maneuver through as a whole. It appeared to us that the hotel guests have a much nicer facility than that of the timeshare exchange guests. Our "villa" was nice, but a little small for a family of four. We had a one bedroom unit. The bed was small (seemed a bit smaller than queen) and the living room with the sleeper sofa was VERY small. Our daughters informed us that the sleeper sofa was really uncomfortable. The biggest area was the bathroom and it was very nice, but so much wasted space in there! The dishwasher was not completely installed and there was insulation coming out around the sides of it. I am really not that picky, and this didn't bother me in the least - just thought it was worth mentioning. The biggest negative would be that there is no daily maid service for clean towels. We certainly have no problem making our own beds and keeping the place neat and tidy, but I did not like having to find a place to hang up four towels every day so that they would be dry by the next morning. I did call and request clean towels one morning and it was not a problem at all. The staff that we briefly dealt with were all extremely friendly and helpful. One of them even called me back here in Illinois after we returned home to verify that they would be on the look-out for the lost earring I reported to the lost and found department. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We just felt that the villas were quite small and inadequate compared to other timeshare resorts. I will tell you that the location was very easy to get to and close to the Palm Springs airport.

We did the timeshare deal also. Our experience started with a long wait to check in at the hotel, not acceptable at purported 4-star place. Like the other reviewer I am a Starwood Preferred Guest and my account was not in their system. Not sure if this is by commission or ommision. Glad I read the reviews before I left, otherwise I may not have checked. Parking was far away from our unit so it was a trek to haul our stuff. We were never offered assistance, but we had a nice view of the hotel receiving docks walking to our room. Housekeeping was still cleaning up rooms around 3:30pm. Noticed a bowl of room service mayonaise outside one room. Room had a nice view of the pool area, but the open cinder block privacy wall was cheesy. Courtyard was of Motel 6 design. Heavenly bed is ok, the shower a joke. Walkway along golf course and view of golf course/mountains very nice.
Next day did the timeshare presentation ran over three hours and only stopped when I started walking out. Timeshare units looked like Motel 6 again from the outside. They must buy the paint from the same vendor. Inside the units look Home Depot modern. Not sure how well these units will keep up with 52+ owners. Program is for some people - those who travel and stay in resorts alot - but not for us. Finance charge of 14.9% is usurious, plus the unit they were selling a "deed" to is not built yet - ready in 2006. You better like kids as there were a lot of them running around. If you want this program I suggest you say no until you take the "survey" from the closer as they up the ante with SPG points and such. The program they tried to sell us was $28k with about $1,000 in yearly costs. Had to laugh when they told the timeshare would appreciate in value. No answer on what special assessments might be. Went back to the room around 1pm and room not made up - poor for "4 star resort". Mayonaise still there turning yellow. Pete Dye course in great shape, but typical to his designs tricked up: where are the windmills? Ate at the hotel resturants - food was typical resort expensive - $42 for a veal dish. Check out was quick, but was not asked how the stay was. Checked the chemisty experiment (mayonaise bowl) again as we left the room.
