“Watch out for hidden fees!”
Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

Westin hotels are lovely and this spa+Resort is really lovely. Our room was huge and bed super comfy. But watch out for all the addon fees! There was a $27 "Resort fee" im addition to the room rates, taxes and fees we psid on Priceline. And while our room service breakfast was delivered right on time by a friendly staff person, tne addon charges doubled what we expected to pay!
If money is no object, don't worry about a stay here. It will be delightful--and expensive.

Ants! Really? We come to a "spa" setting and for the amenities but I get ants crawling all over my bathroom floor. The bathtub was dirty and had the remains of some foreign substance all over it. No robes! The door closed as my wife was taking pictures of the beautiful surroundings and when the key was inserted, would not let her back in the room. The staff was rude in assisting her back into the room. No one went with her to get back into the room other than the alleged security officer (a male). The room had lights that were not functioning and we had to repeatedly ask for replacements. The different buildings were not adjusted to the daylight savings time and upon arrival, the corridors were pitch black and unsafe to be in. This place needs an update and make over if it is to be a spa resort. Back to the ants; the problem was never resolved. The grounds were immaculate. The golf course was great. Check in was great. Concierge was very good. Conference facility was very good. We did get an apology for the robes and dirty tub and a letter and fruit bowl. Still ANTS! Other than that, it was a pleasant stay!

Beautiful setting. Nice resort. Golf course is right there. Room was big and very nice. Bathtub and toilet were in a separate room. Double sinks in the bathroom. Pools were big. Loungers around the pool were very comfortable. The only negatives were slow service in the restaurant and a few hiccups with the housekeeping (she forgot her sponge in the room and barged in to retrieve it, some days did not get more towels or shampoo). I would stay here again.

We stayed here two separate nights on a week long road trip. It being Westin, we didn't much to be concern about. The first stay was a bit inconvenient, because our room was on the 2nd floor, and the building had no elevator. So we had to lug our luggages on the stairs. The room was excellent and big with high ceiling, and decor was updated. Really loved the spacious bathroom with sink and closet area separate from the shower and toilet.

On our second stay, we got the ground floor room, which was great. Bathroom was not as nice as the first one. The heater was broken. It was a cold night and we couldn't get heat. Despite the thermostat was showing 80 degree, it was blowing cold air. It was around 9 p.m. and we were tired so we didn't bother to call for maintenance. Luckily the thick duvet kept us warm.

The staff was very friendly as expected from a Westin. Grounds were nicely kept. Lobby was beautiful. Only the guestroom buildings looked a bit old and plain. We think it's not worth the price if we had to pay full price. Luckily, we got a great deal through Priceline.

This is the second time we've stayed at this property. My in-laws live nearby and I use points for our stay. When we got to the room, it was a bit cold, and I could not get the room warmed up even with the heat cranked to 80. Turns out the heater didn't work so we had to have maintenance come to the room and fix it at 10 pm. The next morning, we found that the fan in the bathroom wasn't functioning. When my wife went to take a shower, there were no shampoo or conditioner bottles for use. Overall, not a great stay. Seems we were calling the service desk and asking for something on a regular basis...three issues for our one night stay.

Not sure if this is typical of the area. We stayed at The Parker once and were extremely disappointed as well...

Room Tip: This is a large property with a lot of different buildings. Seems no matter which room you get you...

My husband and I stayed five nights at this resort recently when we wanted a quiet retreat. The weather was great and the resort grounds beautiful. Unfortunately the room was not. The telephone did not operate so we had to call the front desk using our cell. We were assured it would be fixed but that never happened. The floor lamp was broken and the only way to turn it off and on was at the wall outlet. The heavenly bed was not so heavenly as the wrong size comforter was used on the bed (queen size on a king bed). We have stayed at this property before and our prior experiences have been positive but not this time. This property needs some updating.

My husband and I enjoyed 5 days at the resort along with golf for him and a visit to the spa for me. He enjoyed the golf as the weather was perfect and I had the best pedicure and facial I have ever had (and at 72 I have had a lot!). They had a special that day at the spa so I got both treatments for the price of one - what a way to pass a few hours while Mike was on the golf course!
