For a few years now we've been contemplating staying at this resort and we finally decided to just go! After about 30 minutes into our arrival, we decided to add on another night instead of heading to our next hotel in LA and this was based just from our room and the "welcome feel" of the place. Well, it got even better after we headed down to the pools. If you have kids that love to swim, especially ages 2-12, they will love the kiddy pool with a beach, lazy river and the 2 water slides. We appreciated the family friendly atmosphere and the movies by the pool on a couple of nights that we were there. The only minor complaint is that the fun side of the pool closes at 6:00pm which I think is too early...7:00pm in the summer would be better. We arrived too late on our first day (6:30pm) and another time we got back too late from shopping at the awesome Cabezon outlets, so we only had 2 days to enjoy the fun side of the pool area. Our kids also enjoyed the arts and crafts they had one day and playing games at the family game night. The staff that works with the kids are very nice and seemed to genuinely enjoy their job and all the pool staff we encountered were wonderful as well. I loved the comfy bed, big bathrooms and our balcony to sit and relax in the evenings. We had a grass or rather garden view away from pools and appreciated the quietness and it was a very short walk to the pools. We loved the proximity to lots of great restaurants across the the street..especially Michaels pizza. Yum. This resort feels just like what a vacation should feel like...blissful. Oh, I forgot to mention the great customer service from the coffee shop workers-especially the cashier...forgot her name..sorry! And to the kind restaurant manager who allowed our kids to roast marshmallows for s'mores out on the patio area by the adult pool. It was a great way to end our stay at this fabulous resort.

Room Tip: Liked 2nd floor away from pools.

Dear BuyBuys,

We love hearing of such wonderful experiences; thank you for sharing the details with us. We are proud to have made such an immediately great impression, as we strive to offer our guests a warm and genuine welcome. And to know that was just the beginning of a memorable family getaway is the icing on the cake. We hope to offer the same great experience in the future, from morning coffee to pool time to marshmallow roasting. Thank you for choosing to stay with us this summer.

My husband and I brought our children and grandchildren here for a long weekend of fun and relaxation after several friends told us how wonderful the resort is. Well, there are some wonderful things as well as some terrible things. We booked a poolside room because I have mobility issues and can't walk long distances. Well, I called the hotel the day before to book a cabana and the conceirge told me our room was steps away from the pool. Only after questioning him further did I find out that we were given rooms across a parking lot not at the poolside. I had to call and spent 20 minutes getting the poolside rooms. All the cabanas on our side had broken misters so we sweltered all day. To their credit they knocked off $45 off the price. Still spent an uncomfortable day with small grandchildren in the cabana. The stff is poorly trained and you will get a different answer to your question every time. At check in one staff member said children under 5 didn't need wrist bands for Splashtopia and when we went to the pool they wouldn't let us in until my husband went back to the main desk to get wristbands for my small grandchildren. the WORST THING...........on Saturday morning they let a group staying at the hotel hold a 5K run through the resort. the music and loud speakers started at 5:50 in the morning!!!! IT WAS INSANE!!!! I complained at was given $100 for my trouble, but lots of people were complaining at the pool about such a stupid thing to do at a resort where people are paying lots of money for a restful experience. The BEST experience was the bluEmber for breakfast. Excellent food and service. The BEST run part of the property!
Luckily, 70% of the resort was booked by a sorority and they did not have children. I can see how crowded it could be on a regular weekend. It is a pretty place, but they need to try a little harder. To their credit, they gave us some nice rebates for our trouble, but I would rather have had a more peaceful experience than the money back.

Room Tip: Rooms near spalstopia and facing the golf course. Lots of ducks to play with and a beautiful view of the mountains.

Dear Dwilcox000,

Thank you for choosing to bring your family to stay with us for a summer getaway. We certainly wish the feelings you left with were all good ones. Your feedback helps us improve in the specified areas, so your review is valued. The confusion of the building and room locations is frustrating and its good to hear we were able to get that straightened out in the end. We are proud of our bluEmber breakfast offerings and are pleased you found both the service and food to be fantastic. The morning wake up music is out of the ordinary and certainly far too early for our guests who are here to relax. We hope to have the chance to provide a more relaxing stay in the future. Your business is appreciated!

Sincerely,
Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

My fiancé came from New York and we planned a family vacation due to being deployed and had a spectacular 3 day vacation at this resort. The kids loved it and cant wait to go back again next year for a 1 week vacation. Everything was convenient and staff was welcoming and helped with any concern we had. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone and looking forward to more vacations here.

The Alpha Phi's had a successful and hospitable convention here. Have you ever had salmon fillet mignon at a convention of 500 people before? The food was the best and the spa was great! I highly recommend it! The Suited were conducive to a small board meeting of 10 people. And the hotel staff provided shuttles back-and-forth to our meeting rooms. Be prepared for a very hot time in June and July!

The hotel was clean and beautiful. The location is great with tons of restaurants down the street. The kids had a great time in the lazy pool and the slide. The staff was very helpful and courteous. There were movie nights at the pool.
