My husband and I stayed here during a timeshare preview Oct 12-14, 2007 in the Villas, room 4506. We were nearer the East Pool which if you don't want to be surrounded by a lot of people is perfect. It has ample chairs, two hammocks and a nice large saltwater pool to lounge in. The set up of the villas is a little confusing as the area for check in is not clearly marked, but the guard at the gate will advise you where to go. Parking, as someone else mentioned got a little tough on Sat/Sun but really it only was an issue when we had to drag our bags down for check out (and if we had wanted we could have called the front desk and had someone help us out)...the lobby is nice but small. There is a business center over on the resort side, and a giant pool with a slide right near the lobby on the villa side. Our room was a typical Westin room - that had been rehabbed. The outside of the properties are designed to look like Adobe buildings, so if that is not your style then don't stay here. Our room was a 1-bedroom premium villa - full kitchen, w/d, living room, wrap porch with private BBQ, table and four chairs complete with lovely view of the golf course and mountains....quite pretty and more than we had been expecting. The bathroom had your spa tub, Heavenly Shower, and toilet (there was a tiny hole in the wall underneath the light switch in the water closet, but not a big deal). Two fireplaces, Heavenly bed, and those fab blackout curtains so you can forget what time it is if you so desire. We ate breakfast at the buffet at the Bella Vista on the resort side, and that was quite good, - much better than any Westin property we have been to and about average for a buffet ($19.95 per adult, including coffee and OJ)....overall a very relaxing weekend. And by the way...yes we bought a timeshare at the new Westin Lagunamar in Cancun...Ole!

We had a fantastic stay, we went to play golf and relax and we were not disappointed! The Golf was so cheap and all in a round with a buggy was $30.
The hotel was great, wish we had booked a Premium Villa which has a jacuzzi tub, we had a deluxe villa and it was still great. The only downside was that the cleaners do not like to come back when you say you are still in your room at 9.00am!
So no towels or clean sheets!

The hotel is great and you must visit Bobby in the Lobby bar, the Lobby bar is great and the people are so friendly. Bobby the head barman is so friendly and will keep you entertained for hours! We would like to tahnk him for everything including golf course reviews and recommendations! He knows everyone and everything!

Would recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Palm Springs area.

We stayed here over the weekend in a one-bedroom. It was ok, clean, although somewhat small. The kitchen was small and outdated. The sofa sleeper quite uncomfortable. There were no sheets or cover for the sofa sleeper. The grounds are nicely kept, but the pools seem to be to small to meet capacity on weekends. The pool at the villas was full of kids and babies, and there were fliers at the front desk warning about "accidents" in the water and asking parents to keep pampers on and take the kids to the restroom often... not very inviting for a swim! The pool at the resort/hotel across was actually full of drunk teenagers, no place literally to swim in it. Drinks at the pool bar were severely overpriced.

Overall, I would rank it three stars and avoid being there on weekends.

  • Liked — clean rooms, nice grounds, good service
  • Disliked — small pools, small rooms, too crowded on weekends

We had the best family vacation staying at the Villas. We rented a premium villa that was equipped with a full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, and even had a bbq grill in the patio. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials. It even came with a set of grill seasonings and herbs. Loved that it had a washer and dryer and that it also came with the detergent we needed.

Our Villa was right next to the Clubhouse. We had only a short walk to get to the pool, restaurant on the property (Season's Grill) or to the Clubhouse (check-in, arcade, fitness area). Even if we were staying at one of the further villas, we only would only have to walk a short distance or be picked up by one of the many shuttles that make their rounds every 20 minutes or so.

We literally did not have to leave the resort once we arrived, but if you do, there is a market right down the street to get anything you may need for cooking. If you want to get to the main hotel, hop on a shuttle in front of your villa and it will take you there. There are a few more restaurants at the main hotel, but the main Villa pool is much better than the hotel pool. At the Villa pools, there is a rather large toddler splash pool that's only 1 feet deep. The waterslide at the Villa Pool is much better also since it's longer and much more fun. We were able to order drinks and food and eat by the pool. How much more relaxing could we be?

Because we stayed at a Villa, it had all the necessities of home. We brought groceries and cooked breakfast and dinner. The patio opened up into a big grassy area that was great for our child. We plan to make this an annual family trip. We didn't want to go home.

I always think of Westin being in the same class as Marriott or Hyatt. This property is a dirty dump. Rooms are well worn....stained carpets, furniture that needs replacing due to wear and tear and mold throughout the shower. Overall, it needs an overhaul ASAP. Setting the look of the apartment aside, parking is tough here. Everyone is suppose to have a "registered guest" sign in their window but a lot of cars don't. It almost seems like Westin is letting employee's friends and family use the facilities. Pool scene was not desirable. Seat reservers are alive and well at this property. Got to love those people who wake up at 6am, spread out towels among six chairs and a flip-flop but don't show up to use the pool until noon for 15 minutes. Unlike other resorts who will remove unused towels if not used for 30 minutes, not happening with the Westin pool staff. Since there are no places to sit, you are then forced to buy a cabana if you want to go to the pool. Westin dropped the ball on this property. If I was a timeshare owner here, I'd be screaming at Corporate to fix this place.

After reading some reviews here, we were a little nervous about our booking. But after our recent stay, July 23-30, we must say that the villas and the staff were excelllent. The villas were clean and very spacious. The beds were super comfortable. The pool and slide were awesome. They had poolside games set up for the kids each day. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Tremendous value through Hotwire. Room was like a small apartment complete with small, full function kitchen and a stacked washer/dryer. The room was comfortable and beautiful... the sofa bed was fine for our kids (but NOT for adults). There were some minor maint. issues (broken moldings and cracked caulk)... the maint reason I didn't award it the full 5/5 rating was that the pool areas are spread apart over vast areas (albeit you can hunt down a free cart/shuttle), and (on the days we were there) the pools were extremely crowded and only about 1/3 of the lawn chairs were afforded any shade from the pounding sun... even the $100/day cabanas were 100% rented out! But not for the conspicuous lack of shade (or if we'd come at a more accommodating time of year) I would have overlooked the minor maint. issues and given it the highest rating. The grounds are gorgeous, the pools fun (incl. water slides, volley ball, basketball, and ping pong), and the rooms welcoming. Would gladly visit again (but try to do so at a less hot time of year).

  • Liked — Awesome rooms and grounds.
  • Disliked — Lack of shade at pools, grounds tiring to navigate.
