Food was pretty good, had the butterfish and wish I would of ordered something else. Wasn't really much food, chunk of fish, pile of white rice and veggie "garish". The ribs were good and the rib eye and ahi were good selections around the table. Steak was 14oz. Service was attentive. They did over charge us 33.95 for each for the steaks as the bill stated them for the wrong price. If you didn't know the price of what you ordered 25 or 26.95 for the rib eye, you wouldn't ever of caught it since it was listed as rib eye steak on the final bill. This was after we asked to chop the bill multiple ways to our servers displeasure, which we didnt state earlier.

“Great restaurant!!”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Roy's was a great experience. The pineapple martinis were outstanding and the menu is very diverse with dishes you don't see elsewhere. Try the butterfish or the Hawaii Kai beef ribs. You will not be disappointed with the meal, atmosphere or experience.

“Happy Hour!!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Got there at 4:10 pm, sat in bar and ordered at 4:30 pm when happy hour started! Dar bartender was very friendly and explained how food was prepped. All staff very nice and friendly!
The food was amazing, service great , first time there and all around double thumbs up!!!
Will return again when back in the desert. We got a seat as first one's there! but go at 4:30 when it starts as it was very busy on a Monday night we were there, can only imagine a Friday night!

Sliders! Ebi roll, and shared sorbet for dessert !
Dar makes a mean slushy mango margarita! Ask for it slush otherwise it's just on rocks!

“A great place in Rancho Mirage”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

I should make it clear that we like Roy's! We have eaten at the Roy's in Waikiki, the one at the Inn at Spanish Bay, the one in Plano, Texas and this one in Rancho Mirage. After Waikiki the one in RM is our favorite. The short ribs are killer but this time we started with the lobster California roll and I had the fresh fish sampler that consisted of salmon, mahi mahi and Butter fish. It was melt in your mouth pleasure with sauces made for each fish that heightens the experience. My wife had a lobster dish that she described as out of this world and we finished by sharing their unique pineapple upside down cake. Service, as always, was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere convivial to an elegant dinner.
