“One of the 3 Million”

Cancer Survivors Park
Attraction details
Reviewed April 9, 2014

I have passed by the Cancer Survivor's park many times over the years. Being a long term cancer survivor (31 years) I always thought I should stop and check it out. Today I made the time to do so. What a great experience it turned out to be. It was poignant to say the least! There are series of plaques, the first set is about the "Road to Recovery" while the second set talks about "Fighting and Treatment." Of the many impressive recommendations given, attitude is strongly stressed, as well as mind, body and soul in overcoming the disease, a fact well known by survivors. While the park may seem unassuming, it is incredibly informative as well as inspirational. Anyone who is battling cancer or is close to someone that is, would benefit from a visit. It will offer great hope!

Cancer Survivor's Park is a very small park along the main road, Rt. 111, next to City Hall, in Rancho Mirage. When the Ritz Carlton re-opens, it will be just down the hill. It is a charming, peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of daily living; a place for thoughtful contemplation of what is really important in our lives.

It's a bunch of weird art that didn't do much for me. Maybe it's because I don't have that connection.

It's a nice little green space off of Hwy 111. It's pretty, with some nice public artwork, but it's small. It will only take you a few minutes to visit. Good luck with parking though.
