Four of us went there for lunch on a work day. Were seated in the bar area. Service was very, very slow, by an uninspired server. Except for one person who has some ribs, nothing was outstanding, just OK at best, and some things not good at all. The sides are small in serving size and not a good value for the price. One in our party order mac/cheese, and it came out cold and looking like soup, pretty awful. Overall a really big disappointment.

We ordered a full slab of ribs to split between my wife and I and had 4 bones leftover. The mac and cheese was good as was the potato salad. This Famous Daves is crazy busy weekend nights but we were there at noon on a Saturday and had our order in 5 minutes.

The alluring smells drew us in plus I thought it might be nice to tell Dave Anderson how one of his franchisees is doing. We are Kansas City BBQ Society judges and the brisket was good. I asked if the corn was fresh or frozen and was told it was fresh. At just after 5pm on a friday night I expected the corn to be relatively fresh from the steamer and not a mushy grayish mess. Despite being in a holding unit way too long it was fairly tasty. Our server was friendly and our food came out fast. The banana pudding was really good. We are here for another 11 days and we won't be going back even though it's next to our hotel. This location could be much better with just a few changes in how they plan the food.

For first time visitors they have you try all there BBQ sauces. For me that was a big mistake, some of them are terrible. At least I ordered the brisket and it was wonderful. As far as serving size it was like a child plate, so it cost twice what it was worth.
