This was my first stay at the Aloft chain of Starwood hotels and I was impressed. The hotel has a trendy vibe similar to the W chain but in a budget kind of way, sort of a "W-lite". The lobby is open concept with a bar, seating area, pool table, food pantry and food service area. There was a guitar singer providing entertainment on Saturday night.
Checkin was fast and friendly. As a Gold member, I had a welcome gift choice of Starwood points or two drinks at the bar. I was offered a 4 pm checkout--a Gold perk--without having to ask for it.
The room itself is on the small side, as befitting a trendy hotel. It would be tight for more than two people though in my king bed room there was just enough room for a rollaway. Clearly they want you to spend your time in the common area. But everything was well laid out and the bathroom was nicer than you would find at most budget hotels. There was a fridge but no microwave.
The gym had a couple of treadmills and such--again, not fancy but more spacious than most budget hotels.
I stayed on Starwood points. This is one of the lowest point categories and I thought it was a bargain. I'm a fan, I would return.More
