“Don't let the strip mall fool you”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2011

I was recently in the area on business, and a colleague and I were looking for a place to have Italian food and a glass of wine (ok, mostly we wanted the wine). Our hotel recommended this place, which is in a strip mall next to a Rite Aid. What a find! Arrive before 6:00 p.m. on weeknights for the Happy Hour specials, and ask for those prices even though you're at a table. The small bites are really good, and most are $5. A couple can make a light dinner. The wine on special before 6:00 is very good and only $5/glass. The grilled vegetable plate, which isn't on the HH menu, is $10 and is a platter covered with veggies like portobellos, zucchini, eggplant, green beans, etc. with a home-made tasting marinara sauce. I poured the oil/balsamic belnd that was on the table for the bread (which is also wonderful) onto the veggies and it was delish and great for sharing . Also had the HH meatball slider that was very tasty and the cutest little slider ever. ,

“OK Food. Very Overpriced. Horrid Service. Don't Go.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2011

Our family of six selected this restaurant because of other Tripadvisor reviews. We were so disappointed. The food was ok but the wait for our order to be taken and served was extremely long even though the restaurant was practically empty. The waitress actually walked away in a huff when we said we need a three or four minutes to study the wine list and didn't come back for 15 minutes. We ordered glasses of very ordinary red wine and were served glasses about one-quarter full and changed $10 a glass. A $16 dollar pizza was essentially the size of a dessert plate. And, when we received the bill a service change of 18 percent had been added -- fine if the service was adequate -- but it wan't. We asked to speak to the manager but he or she never appeared.

“Fantastico! Great food, reasonable prices.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2011

Had a great dinner with friends on a recent Saturday night. Restaurant was busy, but not crowded. Ate outside in their dining area which was very nice even though it's in a shopping center-type location. Food was fantastic. My wife and I had the "Naughty pasta"...which was spaghetti, a little spicy, with ricotta and meatballs. I thought it was "fantastico!". I got the small order (even though I usually eat bigger plates, but didn't want the leftovers b/c of visiting the area. Also we shared some "ORIGINAL GARLIC CHIPS
a thin crust with mozzarella cheese and garlic butter" which was basically a cheese pizza with garlic, that's cut up as an appetizer....it was outstanding too! A friend had a pizza that looked wonderful too. We chose this place on the basis of the hotel front desk recommendation....glad we went!

“A favorite for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2011

We visit this restaurant nearly every time we go to visit relatives in Carmichael - it's right on the way, just off Sunrise near Gold River. The food, service, wine selection and ambiance are all great. They have a lunch special that features pizza or pasta that includes salad or soup and a lunch size entree, just perfect, and the bread before the meal is the best. Last time I had the special, a small steak over mashed potatoes topped with a basalmic reduction sauce - cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for lunch.

“GREAT wine selection!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2010

My husband and I stopped by to have a glass of wine at the bar and ended up having a couple more glasses and appetizers - wonderful. The food was lovely and we had a charming server - she really knew her local wine info. We ate in the Cellar room - which was a bit noisy, but a great experience overall! Next time I will need to try a full dinner! ;)
