Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova
Ranked #4 of 17 Hotels in Rancho Cordova
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 14, 2008

We just returned from Rancho Cordova, where we stayed 4 nights. We were attending a local sporting competition at Lake Natoma. The hotel is conveniently located near the freeway, but the downside is there is freeway noise around the pool and patio restaurant. Not the fault of the hotel, but worth noting.

The room was clean and well appointed. The service at the front desk was extraordinarily friendly. The pool was big enough to swim laps, which was refreshing after being outside in 95degree during the day.

The tall ice tea served on the patio restaurant "Formaggio" was brought with flair. The $14.00 buffet breakfast was not over-the top abundant, but had enough to eat too much - cooked to order omelettes, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereals, potatoes, juices etc, and delicious coffee. It was the better option costwise to go with the buffet than a la carte.

We kept commenting throughout our stay how friendly the staff was. A relative left a day early, and realized on the road that she had left clothing in one of the drawers of her room. A quick call to housekeeping and they were standing at our door in 60 seconds with the belongings in a bag and a smile on their face.

It is odd that it's name includes Sacramento, as it is a good 12-15 miles from downtown Sacramento. Perhaps Rancho Cordova is too unknown, and nearby Folsom brings prisons to mind. But - take the drive to Old Town Folsom - well worth exploring. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

The Rancho Cordova Marriott is located in the Eastern Sacramento area off of U.S. 50. It is in the suburb of Rancho Cordova. Plenty of exterior parking. Check in was smooth and welcoming. I was given a room on the Marriott Business floor. My room was spacious and clean. Plenty of light. A King size bed, desk & chair, lounge chair & ottoman, and a small beauty area and chair. T.V. had limited number of channels. The rooms were probably rennovated in the past year.

The Bathroom was clean and nice. The water pressure and temprature were fine.

I used the gym on several occassions, just one all in weight machine but plenty of other machines in a good size room that looks out to the pool area. Room was well ventilated.

There is a very nice pool area and plenty of nice seats around the pool. This is one of the better pool areas for Sacramento Hotels. Very inviting and comfortable. The Hyatt Regency has a good pool area as well.

I used the room service, and my meal was delivered on time and the meal was good. I also ate in the restaurant for the buffet breakfast, and the service and food were very good.

There are plenty of eating establishments about 5 minute drive up Sunrise Blvd. The next exit east on US 50 on Hazel, about
5-10 minutes north is a very good Japanese restaurant called Mikumi.

Everyone I came into contact with were welcoming and provided very good service.

This Marriott is about 10-15 minutes East of downtown Sacramento and if you can afford the commute time, this is one of better full service properties in Sacramento. I was plesantly suprised during my stay at this property.

I high recommend this property.

The Marriott Rancho Cordova was consistent with other top Marriott hotels where I have stayed. I am a Marriott Lifetime Platinum Elite, so I have stayed at many Marriotts. This hotel had a highly professional, friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were very roomy and comfortable. We had no problem getting a roll away bed for a room with two doubles in it. When asked for directions and restaurant recommendations, the staff knew what they were talking about or asked someone who did. We viewed on security incident when a number on non-guest teen-agers entered the pool area. They were swiftly and professionally allowed to leave without any disruption. Clearly security is on its toes here.

Statyed for work conference Jan 2008.

Rooms - Nice, what you'd expect from the Marriott. Very spacious and clean.

Hotel - Big hotel with lots of conference rooms, a restaurant, Starbucks in lobby, pool, exercise room etc. The exercise room was nice with good equipment. The Starbucks was perfect for all day meetings.

Area – There isn’t much near the hotel, however it is right off the highway

Would gladly stay again.

The front desk treated me like an unwelcomed guest because I didn't book through them, I have never experienced this before. And the walls were very thin, you could hear hallway noise clearly. We stayed in a Marriott up in Washington during this same trip and loved everything about that one. This one I would recommend only to my worst enemy.

Location and drive time to Sacramento proper seemed longer than 13 miles. Nice staff, property is sharp. Neighborhood location not great at night. Across from light rail - transients asking for money, people wandering in parking lot at night. Reported to hotel and they addressed it immediately, but sure made our family nervous. Air conditioner in room sounds like a mack truck starting up every time it came on. No sleep due to this.

I stayed here a few years ago for an event at Lake Natoma. It was an OK roadside hotel.

Fast foward a few years. The need arose again due to a Horse event in Elk Grove. The Marriott seemed like the best option in the area. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised to find that after much renovation, this has become is a much nicer hotel.

The furniture, fixtures, bathroom and especially the beds and bedding were of a much better caliber. They have remodeled the restaurant and we had a lovely, resonably priced breakfast. The service all the way around was friendly and attentive.

They've refurbished the pool and added a Starbucks to the lobby. The word is that they have more upgrades planned. It's agood choice for the area.
