Hubby and I used to go here for breakfast every weekend for about one year. However, the last time we went we were suddenly "invisible"...could not get service. Was totally ignored by three waitresses for over ten minutes...and the place was not even busy! We did not understand it, as we are better than average tippers. We never returned...................

We mostly eat breakfast every Sunday and lunch on other days. Menu selection is good for our tastes. A hidden gem is the Eggs Benidict, they have consistenly prepared a quality dish. Ask for the Hollandaise sauce on the side. Have not been disappointed with their breakfast burritos. The half sandwhich lunch special is is a great value, I love the tuna. If you want a little more, try their traditional lunches. Their roast pork plate is real good, doggie bag portions depending on how hungry one is.

Every now and then, when staying at the Best Western Poway, we eat breakfast at the Kountry Kafe, which is two blocks away.. (We’ve returned to both places for a good number of years now.) This time at KK, we had Denver omelet, hash browns, and English muffin on one occasion . There were several preserves to choose from. The next time, banana caramel pancakes, one of four pancake types, hit the spot. And the third time, machaca (shredded beef in scrambled eggs) with good hash browns, corn tortillas, and salsa with tortilla chips. The salsa seemed like it came out of a bottle. Its degree of heat was fine, but it was mushy.. All in all, very good, but certainly not gourmet breakfasts here. The Kafe is open for lunch also, but not for supper
