We have had a further two meals at this restaurant/pub and cant fault it. Staff exceptionally friendly and professional. More than happy to adapt the menu to create something specifically for us as vegetarians. Its been more than a year since we last visited and the owners remembered not only us but what we didnt like or were allergic to foodwise. A fantastic dining experience - to be totally recommended. Popped in for breakfast and another superb experience - food well sourced and cooked perfectly, Happy to pay that bit more for such good quality food and service. Well done Cheryl, Wayne, Sonia, Smiffy and the team

not sure if The Bull thinks its someting its not or its just pricey because there isnt much else to choose from in the area.
The room was very small...the windows were so rotten you could see daylight between the frames...this quirky feature soon became quite an annoying draught in the middle of the night...but i was awake anyway as the noise of the trucks on the busy adjacent road had no trouble coming in due to the lack of double glazing.
They ask you not to put hot drinks on the solid wood furniture....but plenty of people have...shame about all the rings from mugs it gives it a shoddy uncared for appearance...the room was tastefully decorated...had...kettle...iron...suitcase stand...although the room was too small to make use of the latter....bathroom was recently refurbished...shower was hot...nice towels...
The music from the bar can clearly be heard in the rooms...annoying if you wanted to sleep before 10.30....but didnt bother me in truth.
Dinner was nice...soup was excellent..fish and chips is fish and chips whether its once twice or thrice cooked but hot and tasty...as was breakfast...sausage and bacon was very good.
when checking out the receptionist didnt ask me if i enjoyed my stay...if there were any comments...will they see me again...hmmmm..
I'd certainly go back for the food and the atmosphere in the bar...but not to stay in that room for £85.. as a very regular business traveller i would certainy expect a lot more for that much money midweek.

Room Tip: not room 9

Just a few words of thanks to the owners both my wife and I had a great stay, bedroom (the Zebra Room) very comfy and quirky, food memorable, all in all a great place to stay, reminds me of a lovely place where my wife and I used to stay in Germany. It was so good that we decided on the spur of the moment to stay another night.......it didn't take too much convincing me to do that though!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Go for one of the themed rooms........

Stayed at the Bull and was not disappointed.. Room was great and the whole hotel beautifully decorated with a modern and contemporary feel.
Staff were friendly and a really welcoming feel.
Recommend the filet steak in the bar...fabulous!
Breakfast next morning was equally good although the price ramped up on extras of juice, coffee and full breakfast - an all inclusive price for either continental or full breakfast would be more appropriate...

My husband and I stayed at the Bull for 4 nights as it was within walking distance to my niece's home. Everything about the hotel was great! The staff was so friendly, they made you feel like family. Breakfast was included in our rate and there were many great choices to choose from on the menu. Our dinners in the pub were the best we had on our trip. Our room was very comfortable with a king bed. If you are going to be in this area of England you will not go wrong with a stay at the Bull.
