It has been a few years since I was there, but when the opportunity to go to the Warehouse Cafe came up again, I could not pass it up. This place is not one you are going to find without trying; Port Costa is not on any main road - main rail line yes, but not main road. I am not sure what the cafe was originally, certainly could have been a warehouse. It truly is California funk with a few bar denizens who probably came out during the gold rush and never left. They say they have 450 beers; I don't know if it's true, but you can get an inexpensive draft in a Mason Jar. The stuffed giant polar bear is still keeping watch from the corner and it is likely the least interesting creature in the place. If you are ever up around Crockett and you want to drive down some winding, twisting narrow roads to the end of the line, and then some, you have GOT to visit this place.
