“Honestly the WORST FOOD EVER”
Review of C & T's Restaurant

First let me say I am totally being fair and honest in this review! I can honestly say that this establishment served us the absolute worst food we have ever been served in ANY restaurant! First let's start with the sides...I am not joking they served us canned green bean, canned fruit cocktail, and cold lumpy mashed potatoes! The meat in each of our dishes was very dry and tough. We didn't even eat but several bites. We were the only people in the restaurant so we felt obligated to pay. Which later we felt even more regret over because we could not get the experience out of our taste buds!
We, being locals do see that this restaurant seems to be popular with breakfast crowds and seniors which might be there for the social aspect. We however are NEVER EVER...EVER going to go back. It was worse than hot lunches of the 1980's and even worse than hospital food. Again to make sure you know this is a totally honest review; we really had this experience and again I am being VERY KIND...it was that bad :0(

We dropped into C & T's for a quick bite while returning home. We found the place in our GPS and only expected a basic meal.

What we got was a nice surprise. First, how many mom & pop places offer fresh cut homemade ungreasy potato chips? Crispy crunchy potato chips? Instead of fries. I ordered 'em with my patty melt after our wait person (C or T) delivered a free taste sample. The patty melt was perfect, too. A generous patty enrobed in swiss served on hybrid dark/light rye.

My partner's taco salad was a genuine suprise, too. A big bowl festooned with triangles of house-made tortilla chips. Plenty of meat and cheese and salsa and all the good things you want in a taco salad. She could not finish it.

We'll be stopping in for lunch in the future. EZ off and on to Highway 50, too. If the coffee had been better, I'd have clicked 5 stars.

Stopped in for breakfast after my Dad and 2 sisters had said they enjoyed eating there the day before. This is your typical small town cafe with really large portions of good food. Our waitress was great. She is the friendly, always busy type who is very attentive. Prices were reasonable and we will return there the next time we are in town.

I go here regularly to meet with folks for lunch or breakfast meetings. It's a mom and pop kind of place that all the locals hang out at. It's also one of your few choices in town for breakfast. Pollock Pines is the last stop on the way to Lake Tahoe so if you need a hot meal this is where I would go over Taco Bell any day.

The menu has lots of choices for lunch and breakfast. The food it great, portions are generous and the waitstaff are super friendly and down to earth.
