“Lovely clean bed & breakfast near Point Reyes National Park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2010

Nice pastoral setting near Point Reyes Sation, charming but not sappy, simply and tastefully decorated rooms, very clean, very quiet, excellent breakfast with terrific Swedish pancakes and some local food items, friendly but not overbearing hostess, very convenient to explore Point Reyes and Tomales Bay, near excellent restaurants in Point Reyes Sation

I would highly recommend staying at the Lingonberry Farm B&B. My husband and I have stayed at quite a few B&Bs over the years, and this was one of the nicest we've visited. The pictures on their website were what made me decide to book a few nights there, and when we got there I found out that it was even more lovely than the pictures could convey. We stayed in the Dalarna room, which was spacious, beautifully decorated and squeaky-clean.

The B&B owners, John and Susan Nelson were very friendly and welcoming. Their gardens are gorgeous. We stayed 2 nights and the breakfasts were wonderful. The fresh berries from their garden really added to the yummy experience. The coffee was great as was everything else! I’m looking forward to returning to visit and try out another room.

Point Reyes is a beautiful location – plenty of things to do for those (like my husband and me) that enjoy hiking and biking and appreciating the natural beauty of the area.

It was such a treat to stay at this bed and breakfast. The room was very spacious, have sitting area indoor and outdoor, and we loved how it is set next to the owner's veggie patch. Beside the beautiful garden setting, the place is clean and exudes a taste of sweden with its furnitures and its simplicity.
The breakfast was also wonderful. Each day we were served with home made fruit parfait, one day we had the swedish steamed egg (delicious) and another we had swedish pancake with lingoberry jam. In the evening, the owner set out port for us to taste in the dinning area in addition to tea. We sipped and read books in there after a day of adventure. It was a perfect way to end a day.
We would definitely come back to visit.

Staying at the Lingonberry Farm was a great choice for us - beautiful setting across the street from Point Reyes National Seashore on a hillside, gorgeous house built in 2002 by the owners just for this purpose, so they have thought of every modern convenience. There are wide plank floors and nice-sized rooms. The surrounding farmland is beautiful with gardens, alpacas (!), and a couple of Icelandic sheep. We stayed in an upstairs room which was large, with a very confortable queen bed and a balcony. The bathroom is very new with nice fixtures, a bathtub and shower. There were special soaps but the shampoo and conditioner weren't anything special. The furnishings were understated (not frilly and lace-y, which I don't like), and there were guidebooks and maps in the room along with little tidbits of information about Sweden and Swedish culture. It is completely quiet without any hint of city lights, so we slept very soundly. The hosts are friendly and not obtrusive at all. Breakfast was at one of 3 small tables in a sunny common room which also had a fireplace, couch and comfy chairs. We had a delicious breakfast of Swedish pancakes with the choice of using lingonberry jam, orange marmalade or Nutella (we tried all 3!), chicken sausages, European toasts, cheese, yogurt with berries and granola, coffee, orange juice, and teas. We also walked to the tiny town of Point Reyes Station - it was about 25 minutes away and definitely worth a visit. We were almost literally across the street from the entrance of Point Reyes National Seashore.
What I liked best - the house itself, the setting (including the alpacas), and breakfast.
What I liked least - Nothing really. We were asked to remove our shoes (which I was perfectly ok with) but I also didn't feel right dragging my rolling suitcase across the perfect wide-plank floors (and possibly scratching them) - pretty minor, really.

We traveled all day to arrive at the B & B around 6 pm. We tried calling several times for
directions although no one answered the phone. The owners live in the front area of the
home. They have strict rules. Shoes off upon arrival. Coffee is at 8 am and breakfast is
at 8:30am. The living room/dining area is very small. Chairs and tables are brought
out for breaskfast. Breakfast consisted of swedish eggs, bacon and muffins. There was
sugar on everything even the eggs. The house is very clean and kept up. Quiet no T.V.
or music. No Frills or extras.

Lingonberry Farm is great overall, very well kept and comfortable - a good value. Each room quite different from the others, but all share wonderful Swedish-inspired recipes at freshly cooked and served breakfasts. Some nice animals on the farm, close to good restaurants in Point Reyes Station and Olema. A bit confusing on arrival unless you know to just drive up to the gate on the right of the home that just opens for you. Hosts are very friendly, talkative, and run a tight ship.

Have you ever been stared at by an alpaca? These handsome animals have large, (almost cartoonish), eyes and eyelashes and long, graceful necks. This was our welcome to Lingonberry Farms.
We enjoyed the comfy bed and lovely breakfast. My husband (having lived many years in Germany) was thrilled to see herring and cheese on the sideboard. I was thrilled with the buttery Swedish pancakes and lingonberries.
The entryway is a little "echo-y, " and maybe the breakfast room could use a little soft music in the morning, but these are tiny quibbles.
