Amazing views, atmosphere, hiking trails await. This is a wonderfully relaxing area to visit. We spent a week in the area and absolutely loved it.

“Lots of wildlife”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

We loved this park. We saw elephant seals, seal lions, seals, gray whales, deer, tule elk, and lots of birds. The scenery was fantastic. The roads were narrow and windy in spots with some potholes but this just made us slow down and enjoy. The light house was great but the hike back up the stairs was taxing. Make sure you are up for the hike back. There are many hiking trails in the park to enjoy as well as several beaches. We went in early January during the middle of the week and did not feel crowded at all but we were told that is not the case during weekends. At times during weekends the park gets so busy that some roads are closed. There are several old ranches within the park with open ranch so watch for cattle on the roads. We stayed at Tomales Bay Resort just outside Iverness. It was very convenient to the park. We will go back someday.

“So beautiful”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

Had a lovely day out at Point Reyes, about a 160 mile round trip from South Bay if I remember correctly. The road is mostly nice, except for the last mile. The hike was beautiful. There was a lake with a tyre swing, and a nearly empty beach slightly off the beaten path. Highly recommended that you visit.

if the wheather is nice, this is one of the most beautiful places to go to. Pack a picnic and enjoy the trails or the beaches that Point Reyes has to offer.

“Beautiful, beautiful, Beautiful fun”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

The best beaches, the best sunsets, the best hiking trails, the best backcountry camps, neat animals, marine mammals, forest birds, shore birds, wetland birds, varied ecological terrain, mild temperatures all year round, not too crowded, friendly, helpful rangers: Point Reyes has it all! Spend an afternoon or spend a weekend, you will come away happy, peaceful refreshed.
