B Bryan Preserve

Nothing like sitting in your hot tub under the stars and hearing zebra crossing the wooden bridge. Very comfy lodging. Walking down the road just a bit to gather fresh eggs for breakfast. We were very fortunate to go at a time there were several baby zebras. Many, many other hoofed animals as well. This is all within walking distance of town.

Room Tip: Any of the lodging is a win.

Walking outside our cottage and seeing zebras and sable watching us is just surreal. This is an eclectic, magical, very comfortable place to stay. I highly recommend it. It definitely exceeded expectations. The owners have done a brave, mad and entirely inspiring act by collecting and breeding rare African hoofstock. It's a huge amount of work, and we visitors get to watch up close, while being entirely at ease, sitting in front of the pond reading in the afternoon before feeding time, enjoying the hot tub, wandering at will, collecting eggs for our breakfast. You can cook all your meals in the cottage or go to Pt. Arena or even Mendocino to eat out. Terrific place!

It is rare today that a place exceeds my expectations. This is a perfect example how a place can provide an exceptional experience while still be a great value.
