Sandra immediately makes you feel at home, and like almost everyone else in Amador County, as though she truly appreciates your business. The B & B is very quiet, antique-y and quaint, with very comfortable beds. I am not a big breakfast eater, but I can't resist Sandra's breakfasts -- they are bountiful, delightful & befitting a gourmet restaurant in the big city. The location of this B & B is great, with the Taste restaurant across the street, and the wineries very nearby.
If friendliness, warmth and genuine hospitality are what you look for in lodging, this is your place.

We stayed in April 2012. Such a relaxing place and hugely interesting house so wonderfully created and cared for. It was last minute pot luck on booking.com as we were on a "work it as you travel" adventure and discovery trip down route 49 - couldn't have got luckier! Every other comment on TA says the breakfasts are out of this world - it is all true. Talking with Sandy the owner will be one of the elements of our trip remembered for a very long time. Unlike others it seems we did not want to dress up and go into the Taste restaurant. As Brits my wife and I only travel in hiking gear and much prefer to find a bar for a beer and food and to see if the locals will talk with us (they did everywhere!). The only one in Plymouth is 2 mins idle wander down the road and is an old white timber 19th century building called Mansion on Main. If you are a Brit then do not be deceived, Dianne the owner is a fantastic cook, the food was great, the beer was fine and the company on both sides of the bar could not be bettered anywhere - really nice people. If you get the chance - stay in Plymouth and stay at Plymouth House Inn.

Room Tip: Any. They all look great.

We recently stayed at the Plymouth House Inn and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The hostess is very warm and friendly and she did an excellent job of spoiling us. We were served wine and cheese in the afternoon and coffee was brought to our door at 7 AM. The breakfast was a home-cooked gourmet delight. We had fresh squeezed orange juice, mixed fruit, fruit compote, cheese-topped tomato slices, bacon-wrapped hash brown mounds, egg and sausage casserole, warm walnut cake, tea and coffee.
The inn is close to a number of wonderful Amador County wineries and is within walking distance of a five star restaurant. The antiques and history of the inn are very interesting and we enjoyed meeting and conversing with our fellow travelers.

Room Tip: The rooms on the lower level have private baths. We stayed in one of the two rooms on the upper lev...

My husband and I just visited the inn for 5 days due to family business. It was lovely- truly the best breakfasts I have experienced outside of Europe. Sandra loves to cook for the guests and there is not any way to leave the table in the morning unhappy !! Also as very early risers, there was tea and coffee prepared just as we like it, every morning.

In visiting the vineyards close by we found a couple of treasures in the Shanendoah Valley- so be sure to visit as many vineyards as time allows. One of the finest culinary expereinces is also just down the sreet- only a 2 block walk- check out Taste.

We strongly recommend you choose to join others who have found this lovely little inn.

The Plymouth House Inn is a perfect locaction with easy access to wineries, an incredible restaurant Taste, and a super deli. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the innkeeper quite hospitable, and the breakfasts delicious. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest.

Room Tip: The suites in the back are spacious and more private than the rooms in the front of the house, as we...

We spent a lovely Saturday night in Plymouth at the Plymouth House Inn. Really enjoyed the "wine hour" that the innkeeper provided as it was a great way to socialize with the other guests. Plymouth House Inn was a small B & B that was clean/cozy/charming, convenient to wine tasking, with a very pleasant innkeeper, Sandra. A nice touch...carafe of fresh coffee at our door on Sunday at 7:00 am. The breakfast was amazing! The food was very yummy, numerouscourses, and nicely presented.
