“Best Breakfast at a B & B”
Reviewed February 27, 2012

We spent a lovely Saturday night in Plymouth at the Plymouth House Inn. Really enjoyed the "wine hour" that the innkeeper provided as it was a great way to socialize with the other guests. Plymouth House Inn was a small B & B that was clean/cozy/charming, convenient to wine tasking, with a very pleasant innkeeper, Sandra. A nice touch...carafe of fresh coffee at our door on Sunday at 7:00 am. The breakfast was amazing! The food was very yummy, numerouscourses, and nicely presented.

My mom and I enjoyed a one night stay on a Thursday night. We were the only guests at this quaint B & B that was built in 1895 and were treated as though it was a full house. She did not skimp in any way. The King size bed was very comfy. The 5:00 wine hour was lovely and Sandra opened a white and red wine for us. She left a coffee service at our bedroom door at 7 a.m. and prepared a super home-cooked generous breakfast for us at 9 a.m. This was a nice place to stay after visiting wineries for the day in Amador County. We loved our dinner at Taste as well, a one-block walk from the B & B. You will be comfortable and well cared for if you stay at the Plymouth House Inn.

I stumbled across Sandra's delightful B&B while looking for a place to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversay. My wife and I love wine and the gold country. The Plymouth House Inn sits at the gateway to California's Amador County wineries. If you love robust reds, this is a must-visit area.

Sandra was a most gracious host. There were 10 guests this weekend (October 22-23, 2011). She had coffee service for us at 6am Sunday the 23rd. A marvelous breakfast (cooked and served by her) was served for all of us at 9am. Most of us had dinner the night before at a restaurant called "Taste." The food there was quite good, and priced accordingly. However, the service was spotty, and in some cases, downright poor. Nonetheless, it is the best restaurant in Plymouth, and hopefully, will improve.

For anyone wishing to spend some time in California's gold country, I would highly recommend the Plymouth House Inn.

Room Tip: the attic rooms are only $90 a night

This is a great little b&b with an amazing breakfast. I love the parlor and Early evening wine & cheese. The rooms are nice. The garden room is especially awesome with a semi-private patio.

The hostess Miss Sandra is charming and gracious. I will definitely return.

Your hostess, Sandra, will do her best to make your stay at the historic Plymouth House Inn a comfortable one. Meet new friends over a glass of complementary wine at 5:00 in the old parlor, then make sure you have reservations for Taste Restaurant (a short 5 minute walk from The Inn) for a meal to remember! We have been to the Inn twice and loved how convenient it is to the fabulous wine trails of Amadoe County...Sandra also provides a nice breakfast to launch you on your day.

Room Tip: Beds are comfy and our room was quiet. (Carosel Suite)
