“Loud but nice”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

The Coco Cabana is located in Pleasanton, Ca. part of a relatively new area. The interior is modern, loud, but you can escape to the outside for reduced noise, weather permitting. There is a bar/lounge and a menu with Tapas and main courses. They also have a happy hour every day, different hours on different days . (Happy hour prices aren't half price).

I ordered Coco Shrimp, Tomato Curry Soup, and PRIMAVERA – mixed greens, goat cheese, blackberries, strawberries, cucumbers & candied walnuts, I also had a happy hour lamb on a skewer with saffron infused sticky rice. My wife order POLLO CON CHAMPINONES – grilled chicken breast topped with mushrooms & bell peppers in a creamy smoked pepper sauce, served with grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The shrimp sauce was sweet and spicy, the salad, although nothing fancy was very well put together and tasty, and maybe the best was the Tomato Curry soup, a rich and thick coconut bases concoction - which I highly recommend. My wife reported that her chicken was ok but not as good a she remembered it. She also like my soup and lamb and favored the saffron rice over her mashed potatoes.

Service was fairly fast, but in all fairness we came at about 5:30 on a Sunday and the place was probably 1/4 full at best. Despite that the noise level was quite high.

Parking was plentiful and the general area is attractive.

“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Had business lunch. The food was excellent; the waiter was friendly; the atmosphere was wonderful. I had the Chili Verde Chicken Enchilada and am usually not a fan of Enchilada but this was fantastic. Next time I will try the Barbcoa as they were out of it due to being busy during the weekend! Please correct the City name; this restaurant is located in Dublin, not Pleasanton.

“This is a fun place to dine”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

This restaurant serves tapas (small plates) as well as the usual entrees, etc. If you go during happy hour, it is a lively, friendly atmosphere. We have usually had the tapas and they are excellently prepared and presented. The Kobe sliders are wonderful as are the tacos, coconut shrimp and Caesar salad. The servers are attentive and friendly. It's a nice place to go and they have banquet areas as well if you want to have a big group. I highly recommend it.

“Fun spot for drinks and apps”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

We visited Coco Cabana with about 30 clients and vendors. They were very accomodating. The seafood apps were very good and the bartenders and waitstaff were very attentive to everyone's needs.

“More than we expected”
Reviewed November 14, 2011

First of all this restaurant is NOT in Pleasanton. It is located in Dublin.

One of our friends was in charge to making dinner plans for everyone and he chose this restaurant. It was very good. Service was impeccable. The goat cheese appetizer was Awesome! My husband had the spicy pasta and he said it was packed full of flavor. I had the flat iron steak and it was incredible, tender, perfectly cooked and beautiful when it was presented.

Try out this restaurant and I hope you have a wonderful experience as we did.
