Shadow Cliffs is a fun regional park for families looking for a nice place to let the kids play in the water and sand and spend some time having a picnic or BBQ. The water has a very gentle slope making it a great place for toddlers and little ones to play in the water safely and there are plenty of lifeguards in the warm months. There is much shade not too far from the water's edge and a snack bar open during the summer months. parking is close for the admission free to the park which I believe is still $6.00 per vehicle. There is also a water slide with 4 slides but I would check to see if it will be operating beyond the summer of 2007. A larger water park had been planned which would have closed the smaller ones, but the plans for the larger park fell through.
Visitors should avoid this park on the summer holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day) as people travel far and wide the parking completely fills up for literally a miles around and a heavy police presence makes any impromptu parking a bad idea. The number of people alone on those days make it a very crowded place to be.
