Love the excellent coffees at Peet's in Pleasant Hill. The baristas are smiling and friendly and are happy to make any variations to your coffee order. Pleasant atmosphere but this is a small place and gets very crowded sometimes. Be prepared to ask to share a table or to sit on a high stool at the little raised counter in the back or on one of the benches outside along the sidewalk. Just have to add: really, people, drink your coffee, have your conversation, then leave so others can have a chance to sit and enjoy their beverages. Too many students hogging up space with laptops open and empty cups. Even a couple of single ladies, each parked at her own table, finished with coffee and just hanging out doing crafts or just reading a book. Try the public library for that! Perhaps a polite sign could be posted reminding patrons that this is a COFFEE shop. Same things happen at Starbucks but they have more space for hanging out indefinitely.
